    It's been revealed just one in five dental practices across the Yorkshire and Humber region currently accept new NHS patients. Just a quarter are offering places for children.

    New research by the BBC has found just over 2,500 dentists offer treatment on the NHS in this region, which is a reduction of nearly 2% in the past two years. In some areas of Yorkshire it's nearly impossible to find a dentist at all.

    NHS England says it is reviewing how it can improve access to dentists across the region and is also looking to improve capacity using its existing budget.

    The government is insisting that "concrete progress" is being made in the Brexit negotiations, despite the European Union questioning whether much has been achieved so far.

    The Brexit Secretary - and Haltemprice and Howden MP - David Davis told the Commons there were areas of disagreement but he is satisfied with developments so far.

    It comes after the prime minister said the UK was ready to rather than stick to its one-week-a-month schedule.

    Officers have launched an appeal to find Michael Nicklin in connection with an aggravated burglary on Melville Street in Hull on Saturday night.

    Nicklin is believed to be in the Hull area.

    There are calls for the overnight closure of a North East Lincolnshire Park.

    People living around Cleethorpes Country Park say action is needed to stop boy racers causing disruption and making residents lives a nightmare.

    There are reports of people being woken up at night by and now North East Lincolshire Councillor Keith Brookes wants to see the park locked at night to stop the disruption.

  9. Police appeal for witnesses after car hit a tree injuring two peoplepublished at 16:11 British Summer Time 5 September 2017

    Humberside Police say a 77-year-old woman and an 80-year-old man suffered serious injuries when their car left the road and hit a tree on Balne Moor Road in Pollington.

    The collision occurred on the afternoon of Sunday 27 August and both the man and woman remain in hospital.

    Officers would like to speak to the driver of a silver Audi A1, external that is thought may have witnessed the incident.

    The crowds have started gathering near Central Park in Scunthorpe for the end of Stage Three of the Tour of Britain.

    Setting off from Normanby Hall at 11:00 this morning, 120 cyclists will soon be racing to the finish.

    Some of the world's top cyclists are taking part in the race, including Olympic medalist Mark Cavendish.

  14. Hull cake factory fined £1m over ladder deathpublished at 15:19 British Summer Time 5 September 2017

    A cake manufacturing firm has been fined £1m over the death of a worker at its factory in Hull.

    Contractor David Shanks, 55, died after falling from a ladder while working at Greencore Grocery Ltd in Sutton Fields in October 2013.

    The company was also ordered to pay £30,000 costs and a £120 victim surcharge when it was sentenced at Hull Crown Court. It pleaded guilty to a charge of failing to provide health and safety information to a contractor at a magistrates court in June.

    Greencore said it was "deeply saddened" by his death and had taken measures to prevent further accidents taking place.

    Peter Clarke, the Mayor of North Lincolnshire, has been speaking to Radio Humberside about the Tour of Britain.

    The cyclists set off from Normanby Hall this morning, with the race due to finish at Scunthorpe's Central Park at around 15:30.

    Thousands of spectators have been lining the route all day.

  17. Police appeal over injured bus passengerpublished at 14:12 British Summer Time 5 September 2017

    Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was injured by an object thrown through the window of a moving bus in Cleethorpes last month.

    The bus was travelling along Grimsby Road in Cleethorpes at about 21:40 on Saturday 16 August when the unknown object was thrown by a gang of youths.

    The man, who was leaning against the window, suffered injuries to his ear.

    Anyone with information about the incident is being asked to contact police.

  18. M62 crash: Baby boy and toddler sister die in hospitalpublished at 13:57 British Summer Time 5 September 2017

    A two-month-old boy and his 19-month-old sister have died in hospital after a crash on the M62 near Goole.

    Emergency services including the air ambulance and fire crews attended the scene near the A19 Whitley Bridge, Goole, at about 15:30 on Sunday.

    The boy and his sister were taken to hospital after the car they were in left the westbound carriageway on Sunday afternoon. Both died the next day.

    Their mother is in a serious condition while the father - believed to be the driver - received minor injuries.

    North Yorkshire Police said the family were from West Yorkshire but did not name them.
