    Winning images in a photography competition will be displayed on beer mats in Hull's pubs and clubs rather than in an art gallery.

    The Hull Beermat Photography Festival is part of Hull UK City of Culture 2017.

    Entrants are being asked to send in images of Hull and East Yorkshire on social media and the winners will be selected by photographer Martin Parr.

    The willing images will then be printed on beer mats to be distributed across the city later in the year.

    There's good news this morning for the renewable energy industry.

    For the first time the cost of offshore wind energy from the North Sea is now cheaper than other sources including nuclear.

    Dong Energy have been awarded a subsidy contract from the government for their off-shore wind farm Hornsea Project Two. When completed, it will become the world's biggest offshore windfarm.

    But what does this actually mean for the future? To break it down, I spoke to Matthew Wright, the UK Managing Director for DONG Energy earlier this morning.

    Victims of child sexual abuse in northern Lincolnshire are being encouraged to share their stories.

    The Truth Project, external, which is part of the independent inquiry into child sexual abuse, will hear directly from victims about their experiences in Grimsby.

    Survivors will be asked to make suggestions about how to stop further abuse. Information will then be used to shape recommendations to Parliament.

    Two men have been seriously injured in a crash on Perth Street West in Hull.

    It happened yesterday afternoon when a blue Citroen Xsara crashed into roadside fencing and the overhead railway bridge.

    Two men fled the scene and a 25-year-old man who was trapped in the car had to be freed by emergency services. He was then taken to Hull Royal Infirmary for treatment.

    A man was later found with serious injuries and taken to hospital. Police are trying to find a third man to speak to him about what happened.

    Energy from offshore wind in the UK will be cheaper than electricity from new nuclear power for the first time.

    The development, revealed in figures from the government, has been seen as a milestone in the advance of renewable energy.

    Its been announced that Dong Energy has been awarded a subsidy contract from the government meaning it can guarantee prices from its Hornsea Project Two site.

    When that scheme is completed in 2022 it will become the world's biggest offshore windfarm, capable of powering more than 1.3 million homes in the UK.

    A 77-year-old man has died following a crash in Grimsby.

    The accident involved three cars on the A18 on Saturday.

    Another man was seriously injured and is being treated in hospital, but the third vehicle didn't stop and police want the driver to come forward

    Hull Kingston Rovers have returned to rugby league's top tier after beating Widnes 12 - 6 on Saturday.

    The Robins dropped out of Super League after the million-pound game last October.

    Police have issued a warning after a woman was attacked in a cemetery by a man who tried to rape her.

    The 36-year-old was approached by a man as she walked through the cemetery in Spring Bank West, Hull, at about 19:00 on Saturday.

    The woman managed to break free after the man assaulted her causing her minor injuries to her face and arms.

    Officers said they were concerned the man could make another attempt and urged people to take care.
