    The family of Hull KR rugby league legend Roger Millward say they're honoured after one of the main roads in Hull was re-named after him.

    The former Great Britain international made more than four hundred appearances for Hull KR and led them to Challenge Cup glory in 1980, beating Hull FC in the final.

    A 25 year-old man from North East Lincolnshire has been found not guilty after being accused of inciting racial hatred.

    Joshua North, seen above in the grey suit with glasses, said that the negative comment he made on social media about the travelling community was an ironic joke.

    Today a jury at Grimsby Crown Court found him not guilty.

    Officers have raided a house on Newbridge Road in Hull today as part of a National Crime Agency investigation.

    They say there is no risk to the public and it's part of an ongoing investigation.

    The fire service was also involved in the search.

    A ceremony has been held on in Hull to remember the crew of the Kingston Peridot which sank in the triple trawler tragedy 50 years ago.

    On 26 January 1968 the trawler sank off Skagagrunn on the Icelandic coast, with the loss of all 20 men.

    It was one of three trawlers which sank within 26 days of each other, with the loss of 58 lives.

    A wreath was laid at today's ceremony on Hessle Road and tributes were also paid to the crews from the Lorella and the Roderigo which sank on this day in 1955.

    A woman from Cleethorpes has been sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison for drug dealing and handling stolen goods.

    Lesley Jayne Mooney, 57, of Brenton Avenue, pleaded guilty at an earlier court hearing to possession with intent to supply class A drugs and to handling stolen goods.

    Humberside Police searched her home in March 2017 where they found her holding a black plastic parcel with a number of wraps of drugs inside.

    Officers found over 2,000 items believed to have been stolen, including bags full of boxed watches, make-up, deodorants, chocolate and DVDs.

    Hull KR’s all-time record appearance holder Mike Smith has been appointed as the club’s new president ahead of the 2018 season.

    He takes over from Colin Hutton, who died last year.

    A former England international during his playing days in the 1970s and 80s, Smith spent his entire career with the Robins and racked up a record 489 first team games for the club as well as scoring over 140 tries.

    Locksmiths are warning people in Hull about a recent rise in a particular type of break-in.

    Ciminals are targeting houses with UPVC doors and using pressure devices to enter properties, often in seconds and with very little noise, say lock experts.

    The issue was previously common in West Yorkshire, but is now happening more regularly in Hull.

    Humberside Police advises people to review how secure their house isand use strong deadlocks where possible.

    Hull Trains have tweeted that trains between Peterborough, Doncaster and Lincoln are being disrupted because of an incident involving emergency services.

    A major road in Hull has been renamed today in honour of rugby league legend Roger Millward.

    The former Great Britain and England international made more than 400 appearances for Hull KR and became an icon in the game.

    Today, Garrison Road has officially changed its name to Roger Millward way in his honour.

    The deputy head of a North Lincolnshire School where a support worker was stabbed says pupils now feel safe again thanks to the help of the community and educational psychologists.

    School support worker Joy Simon was seriously injured after being attacked by a student at Winterton Community Academy, near Scunthorpe, four months ago.

    Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals Trust is urging patients to attend their appointments unless told otherwise.

    The trust announced that from Monday it will launch Operation Wintergreen, meaning some routine surgery and appointments at Castle Hill hospital and Hull Royal Infirmary will be cancelled in order to free up resources for accident and emergency.

    Hospital bosses says they're contacting people directly if they are affected by the changes.

    More now on the embattled firm which runs Hull and Lincolnshire's non-emergency transport services.

    Thames Ambulance Service (TASL) has come under fire for failing to meet targets and letting down patients and has been given a three-month deadline to turn things around.

    In a statement, the firm says it's now moving in the right direction:

  16. Cottingham's referendum focuses on village's futurepublished at 09:25 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January 2018

    Cottingham is to hold a referendum next month on the village's Neighbourhood Plan.

    If residents vote yes, developers will have to consider the area's local plan.

    It would mean building houses in keeping with the village, protecting things like trees and not spoiling the view for people living locally.

    The referendum will take place on Thursday 15 February at six polling stations.

    Thames Ambulance Service, which provides non-emergency transport in Hull and Lincolnshire, is still failing to meet any of its key targets, according to new figures seen by the BBC.

    The service has been given just three months to improve or it could face losing the Lincolnshire contract which is worth £25m.

    The MP for Grimsby, Melanie Onn, is demanding that ambulance bosses discuss their performance with other local MPs:
