    Wind turbine blades made in Hull are now able to help produce power for more than 500,000 homes a year.

    Installation of 91 turbines at Race Bank off the Lincolnshire coast, external began in May 2017 with the final one going up in December.

    The turbine blades were made at the Siemens Gamesa factory in Hull, external and the wind farm will use a new Service Operation Vessel allowing the operations and maintenance team in Grimsby to stay out at sea for up to 28 days at a time.

    Now testing is complete and the project will officially open in the summer.

    Dr Nicola Green, who has worked with children and young people for the Humber NHS Foundation Trust for 17 years, says chatting about your emotions is good for you.

  3. Concern over Hull 'vigilante' groupspublished at 11:23 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2018

    Humberside Police are warning against 'vigilante' action, external after a large group of people appeared outside a man's house in East Hull on Tuesday night.

    A number of officers and at least 10 police vehicles had to intervene when the group gathered on the Preston Road estate to accuse him of being a sex offender.

    Police say the members of the group had got it wrong and the man was entirely innocent.

    Det Ch Supt Judi Heaton says: "Our first priority is keeping all those who live and work in our area safe and – whether it is their intention or not – these vigilante groups are potentially putting the lives of innocent people at risk."

    Graham Alexander, manager of Scunthorpe United, has admitted that the side failed to sign Preston player Eoin Doyle in the Transfer Window.

    The Iron's manager (pictured) had hoped to sign the striker but he decided to join Oldham on loan instead.

    Alexander says he’s confident the team have a strong enough squad to maintain their promotion push despite the loss of strikers Paddy Madden and Kevin Van Veen in January.

    The manager says he didn't want to lose Van Veen but his contract ends in the summer so it made "good sense" for the club.

    East Riding Council is developing a new plan to encourage people to live healthier lifestyles because the area has the highest number of overweight people in the region.

    A report, going before councillors later, reveals 68.4% of adults are overweight or obese.

    The council's Health and Wellbeing Board will set out their new joint strategy to tackle the issue today.
