    Police are asking for help to find 76-year-old Brian Fitter who's been missing from his home in Grimsby since Friday.

    He was last seen on Town Hall Street in Grimsby.

    Officers say they're concerned for his health and well-being, external and are asking anyone who sees him to call 101.

    Routine operations at hospitals in Grimsby and Scunthorpe could be cancelled until the middle of next month, according to health bosses.

    The cancellations are in an effort to free staff to work in Accident & Emergency departments and are likely to continue for another three weeks.

    Flood defences to protect part of the East Yorkshire coast could be ditched for a cheaper option.

    Plans to build defences worth nearly £2m close to a beach near Tunstall have stalled because of the cost of purchasing the land.

    East Riding of Yorkshire Council says the new option will protect homes for the next fifty years and will cost significantly less.

    More than a thousand people have signed a petition about changes to ticket prices at Scunthorpe's Plowright Theatre.

    Management have introduced a £1 booking fee per ticket on all tickets regardless of how they're bought.

    The extra charge also applies to the Baths Hall in Scunthorpe.

    A spokesman for the Plowright said because of a change in the law they can no longer charge a booking fee on cards without it being the same for people paying cash so they've reluctantly applied the same £1 fee.

    Hundreds of contractors have walked off site at a green energy plant in Hull.

    Staff at Energy Works, external say they are angry over health and safety issues.

    A picket line has been set up on Dalton Street.

    It comes after a walkout last week. The principal contractor, M+W Group, said they anticipated a swift resolution to the matter.

    An elderly man who died in Waltham near Grimsby yesterday has been named as 80-year-old James Fish.

    Police are trying to work out how he died.

    A 28-year-old woman has been arrested and is in police custody.

    Officers say his family is being supported.

    For the first time office staff at hospitals in East Yorkshire have been asked to help out on the wards to help deal with "record numbers of patients."

    The Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust says Hull Royal Infirmary is facing "unprecedented pressure.

    Routine operations at Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital have also been cancelled for eight days.

    Humberside Police say a man was seriously injured in an attack in Hull on Christmas Eve.

    They are investigating after the 34-year-old man suffered serious facial injuries in the attack on Anlaby Road.

    Officers say they are following a number of lines of inquiry, but are asking anyone that saw the assault to get in touch.

  19. Hull Banksy: Vandalism or a work of art?published at 15:53 Greenwich Mean Time 29 January 2018

    Love it or hate it, the Banksy mural in Hull has really been getting people in the city talking.

    The stencilled design appeared on a bridge last week and after it was defaced with white paint, the council has installed a sheet of plastic to protect it.
