    Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) has cancelled all non-emergency patient transport in East Yorkshire because of the bad weather.

    Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals Trust says that has meant some people haven't been able to get to outpatient appointments.

    YAS says the service is still operating for priority patients, including those who are having renal dialysis, cancer treatment, and those due to be taken home from hospital.

    Patients in Hull are not affected.

  2. Union says waste disposal strikes could hit bin roundspublished at 17:20 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2018

    Rubbish collections could be affected by strike action in Hull and East Yorkshire according to union representatives.

    Workers walked off site at waste disposal sites this morning in a row over sick pay.

    Unison says bin lorries may be stopped from emptying their rubbish at waste disposal sites run by FCC Environment because of picket lines.

    The union claims the company is not listening to their demands for an improved deal on wages and sick pay.

    The action is due to continue until next Wednesday.

    We have contacted FCC Environment for comment.

    Humberside Police say Sands Road in Hornsea is shut because high winds and the tide are making it dangerous.

    They're warning drivers and pedestrians to stay away.

    It is not the only Super League game that has been affected by the freezing weather; games at Leeds Rhinos (pictured), Wakefield and St Helens have also been postponed.

    Scunthorpe United are asking for volunteers to help clear the pitch at Glanford Park ahead of their match at the weekend

    The Iron are due to take on Oldham Athletic on Saturday, but the pitch is currently under a layer of snow.

    There have been several reports of fallen trees in East Yorkshire.

    East Riding of Yorkshire Council says its forestry team has been out to deal with seven incidents so far.

    Trees were down in Octon, Kilnwick, Beverley, Cottingham, Roos, North Ferriby and Woodmansey.

    Police in East Yorkshire are trying to find a 16-year-old boy who has been missing since 3 Febraury.

    Kobee Lanson was last seen in Driffield.

    Officers say they have unconfirmed sightings of him in Bridlington in the past week and think he is still in the resort.

    Kobee is white, 5'11" tall with dark brown hair.

    He was last seen wearing a grey hoody and tracksuit bottoms.

    Part of the roof at South Holderness Technology College in Hull has been damaged by high winds.

    The college says there is no threat to pupils or staff.

    It says the college is still open and work is under way to fix the damage.
