    Replacement bus services are being laid on in parts of East Yorkshire after EYMS said it could no longer operate some routes.

    The services will run in and around Driffield, external,Market Weighton, Pocklington , externaland for people travelling between Bempton, Buckton , externaland Bridlington.

    Two new services will run between Hornsea and Hull, external.

    East Riding Council sought tenders from other local operators to provide some of the services.

  2. Stolen dumper truck 'could have killed someone'published at 14:24 British Summer Time 20 April 2018

    Police say thieves who stole a dumper truck in Grimsby crashing it into a house and cars, could have killed somebody.

    Trampled railings by a path into a park.

    It was taken from a building site and also used to damage a new park and then abandoned in Gilbey Road.

    Witnesses say they saw a teenager driving the truck and that it was mindless vandalism.

    Hull City head coach Nigel Adkins says the club has offered a new deal to keeper Allan McGregor.

    The Scottish international has been linked with a summer move to Hearts this week but Adkins says they're making efforts to keep him at the club.

    Adkins has also revealed he's already spoken with Liverpool about the prospect of getting Harry Wilson back on-loan next season but a decision isn't expected until the summer.

    City captain Michael Dawson will return to the side at Bristol City tomorrow and Adkins says there will be other changes with no fresh injury concerns.

    Over 3,000 has been raised and tools donated for a Hull builder who had his equipment stolen while volunteering for the BBC TV show DIY SOS in Hessle.

    Paul Matson runs the charity Hull 4 Heroes, which builds and renovates houses for ex-servicemen and women.

    After hearing his story yesterday, people have come forward to help Paul and now he wants to say "thank you":

  6. School bus and tractor collide - no injuries from incidentpublished at 12:38 British Summer Time 20 April 2018

    A bus carrying students to college and a tractor have collided near Grimsby this morning.

    It happened at North Thoresby earlier today.

    The bus was carrying students to Franklin sixth form college in Grimsby.

    Nobody was hurt.

  7. Broadband company to invest £5m in Hullpublished at 12:26 British Summer Time 20 April 2018

    Around £5m will be invested in a new data centre in Hull.

    The internet firm Connexin is creating 60 jobs at the Bridgehead Business Park.

    The company is expected to open the site in December with jobs in engineering and event management on offer.

    The site will also be used to show school children how the internet works.

    Over £3,000 has been raised for a builder from East Yorkshire who runs a charity that helps dozens of military veterans.

    Yesterday people were heartbroken to hear how Paul Matson had all his tools stolen while volunteering on a DIY SOS build in Hessle.

    Paul says Darren (the person whose house DIY SOS are helping to transform) found a local company willing to replace all his tools.

    Paul says he's received so many donations of tools and money, he's overwhelmed by the support.

    Bridlington's new Shannon class lifeboat is being named tomorrow.

    The Bridlington RNLI boat will be named Anthony Patrick Jones in memory of a local man who left a million pounds to the charity.

    He'd received compensation after mistakes during an operation left him paralysed and blind.

    As well as the lifeboat charity, he left money to the RSPCA and the Riding for the Disabled Association when he died at the age of 46.

    The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, will be blessing the lifeboat during the naming ceremony at the lifeboat station on the Spa Promenade at 13:00 tomorrow.

    Lincolnshire Police say that a bus and tractor with a trailer were involved in the crash.

    It happened at 08:34 this morning at North Thoresby.

    No one was injured, but it's causing major traffic problems.

    The A16 has been closed to recover the bus.

    A major Lincolnshire road has been closed in both directions after an accident on the A16.

    There are reports of heavy traffic between B1201 High Street and Grainsby Lane.

    Work is under way to recover a bus.

    For the first time since 1882, the UK was - for 48 hours this week - powered without the use of coal.

    Drax power station near Goole says it's "a huge step in the right direction".

    The milestone was hit on Tuesday and Wednesday, after being picked up by a monitoring system.

    Drax Power says it's down to the warmer weather and a growth in renewable energy and gas.

    Their Chief Executive Andy Koss says they're committed to coming off coal before 2025.

    A Hull housing charity that usually renovates old, boarded-up properties wants to start their first self-build project.

    Giroscope are looking to launch a new scheme which would see future tenants help design and build their own homes on land near Coltman Street.

    It's hoped it would increase future employability as well as create more much-needed homes in the city.

    But Hull City Council planners have said the scheme should be refused permission.

    A builder from Hull, who runs a charity that helps dozens of military veterans, says he has been overwhelmed by support from strangers after his tools were stolen from his van.

    Paul Matson, (above) who is a former soldier, builds and renovates houses for ex-servicemen and women and is currently supporting a DIY SOS big build in Hessle.

    People have kindly donated replacement tools and raised funds, after thousands of pounds worth of tools and equipment were stolen from Mr Matson.
