    All Humberside Police officers are to be given body cameras after a recent trial in Hull.

    It's one of the last forces in the country to introduce them and will cost £1.7m.

    The force hopes the devices will make evidence-gathering quicker and prosecutions easier.

    Rail passengers in East Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire face disruption as Northern staff stage a 24-hour strike, days after travel chaos when new timetables were introduced.

    RMT union members at Northern are striking in an ongoing dispute about safety involving driver-only operated trains.

    The union said the train operator had declared "war on passengers".

    Northern called for "meaningful" talks and said the majority of trains would run between 07:00 and 19:00.

    The firm faced widespread criticism over cancellations, delays and the implementation of a new timetable on Monday.

    Improving Northern's train services are the Department for Transport's number one performance priority, the government has said.

    It comes amid widespread criticism of the company over cancellations, delays and the implementation of a new timetable earlier this week.

    Chris Grayling said plans to improve the company's performance had been submitted and he will be speaking to managers to discuss future steps.

    Cleethorpe's new lifeboat station has finally been granted planning permission.

    The plans for the station, which have been on hold for several years now, were approved by North East Lincolnshire Council's planning committee, external today.

    The new station will be built on the beach, in front of the existing station, with its own slipway, better facilities for volunteers and new lifeboat.

    Construction is expected to start in December.

    A giant double decker inflatable theme park is coming to Beverley.

    Organisers say it would be the UK's first dual-level inflatable and would hold the UK’s biggest ball pool with around 200,000 plastic spheres.

    The Inflata Nation venue, external is set to open at the town’s Flemingate shopping centre in time for the summer holidays.

    The Transport Secretary Chris Grayling has apologised after major disruption on the railways - following the introduction of new timetables at the beginning of this week.

    He said a late submission of final times by Network Rail was to blame for the problems experienced on Monday.

    Hundreds of services were cancelled, including one-in-seven Northern Rail services.

    The government's been accused of passing responsibility for cutting pollution to local councils, which are to be given new powers to improve air quality.

    Scunthorpe Labour MP Nic Dakin says there is a lack of detail in the government's new clean air strategy and accuses ministers of passing the buck.

    Recent research revealed Scunthorpe and Hull were among the places with the worst air pollution in the UK.

    The government say its increasing targets for renewable fuels, which will double their use, and is looking at the potential introduction of E10 petrol - which is a mix of unleaded and ethanol.

    Workers who featured in film footage which appeared to show pigs being abused on a farm have been sacked and could face prosecution.

    Secret filming by an animal rights charity appears to show workers kicking pigs and jabbing them with pitchforks.

    Fir Tree Farm at Elsham says the workers have been sacked and reported to the authorities.

    The Godfrey family, which owns the business, said they were deeply distressed by what had happened.
