    Humberside Police want to speak to this man in connection with a serious assault in Cleethorpes bar.

    A 46-year-old man was assaulted as he waited at the bar in Bootlegger on Alexandra Road, external sometime before 04:00 on Sunday.

    The victim received potentially life changing facial injuries.

    The suspect, who is thought to have spoken to the victim earlier in the evening, is said to have an Irish accent with a Yorkshire twang.

    This masterpiece by French artist Paul Cézanne will be on display at the Ferens Art Gallery next month.

    The Card Players is being loaned as part of an ongoing partnership with The Courtauld Gallery at Somerset House in London.

    Cézanne’s famous series of paintings of peasant card players have long been considered to be among his most powerful works and this canvas is one of the acknowledged highlights of the Courtauld’s holdings.

  4. Witness appeal after injured man found in Cleethorpespublished at 13:43 British Summer Time 22 May 2018

    Police are asking for information after a man was found in the street with head and facial injuries in Cleethorpes at the weekend.

    He was spotted at about 03:00 on Sunday morning lying unconscious on the floor near the traffic lights by the Mobility Scooter Centre close to the Alexandra Road roundabout.

    He was taken to hospital for treatment.

    A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and released under investigation.

    Anyone with information about the incident is being asked to contact police.

    A national minute's silence will be held at 14:30 today in memory of the 22 people killed and hundreds injured in the Manchester terror attack a year ago.

    A bomb was detonated in Manchester Arena at the end of an Ariana Grande concert on 22 May 2017.

    Angie Theakston, from Beverley, was at the arena with her 13-year old daughter at the time of the blast.

    It may not look like it, but this is actually The Orchard playing field and Louise says the grass hasn't been cut yet this year and is now so long the children can't play anything on it.

    Thankfully, East Riding of Yorkshire Council says its grounds team is scheduled to visit Leven in the next couple of days.

    A monthly street food market planned for the Humber Bridge car park has been cancelled for the second month in a row.

    Organisers, who hoped it would be Europe's largest, say many vendors they wanted were booked for other events.

    It's now postponing the whole summer series.

    A drop-in event's being held in in North Ferriby and Melton for people to get more information about plans for a new waste-to-energy facility in the area.

    The new plant would be built at the site pictured above which is run by Transwaste.

    Some local residents have said they're concerned about the possible impact of pollutants.

    Heat Recovery Solutions will be at Welton memorial Hall from from 16:00 until 19:00 to answer people's questions.

    Green spaces containing memorials to World War One, including one in Hull, could soon be officially protected.

    The Fields in Trust organisation says it's working in partnership with the Royal British Legion to make sure parks and other spaces will not be subject to development.

    Pickering Park in Hull, which provided safety from Zeppelins and bombs dropped in the area during the war, is one of the green spaces for which protection is being sought.

    Today, the Yorkshire garden's been awarded gold in the Show Gardens category at the Royal Horticultural Show.

  15. Bus users call for Bempton service to re-startpublished at 08:29 British Summer Time 22 May 2018

    A petition with 700 names on it calling for Bempton's bus service to be re-instated will be handed to the ward councillor today.

    Bus operator EYMS have stopped running the service, saying the route isn't commercially viable.

    It's left villagers with just six buses a week run by East Riding Council.

  17. In pictures: Medal hopes for Yorkshire garden at Chelseapublished at 07:29 British Summer Time 22 May 2018

    It's awards day at the Chelsea Flower Show and gardeners from across Yorkshire have their (green?) fingers crossed as the judges make their way round the displays.

    One of the gardens, by tourist organisation Welcome to Yorkshire, has been inspired by the Yorkshire Dales - complete with sheep, a brass band and Wensleydale cheese.

    The Queen and the Prime Minister visited the garden yesterday and we'll find out soon whether it's won one of the flower show's coveted medals.

    The natiowide network of 500 small growers 'Flowers from the Farm' was asked to exhibit at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, external for the first time this year.

    East Yorkshire founder Gill Hodgson can't believe how far they've come:
