A mill fire in Huddersfield is the latest in a number of arson attacks but the fire service say they haven't yet found a link.

Fire crews were called to Newsome Mill on Ruth Street at about 04:50 this morning.

At its height about 100 firefighters tackled the blaze and nearby homes were evacuated.

We are working with our police colleagues but at the moment we cannot identify a link between these fires. We would like the owners of these types of unoccupied buildings to take every precaution to prevent a fire in their property, specifically making the building as secure as possible and keeping a regular eye on it.

Two morning trains from Halifax to Leeds have been cut from four carriages to two leading to quite serious overcrowding. These services connecting our major northern towns and cities are essential to delivering the Northern Powerhouse. So can the Minister tell us what he is doing to avoid the crush we are seeing on these commuter services.

The Rail Minister Paul Maynard said changes were being introduced to increase the number of seats on board.

I'm very aware this a busy line and its why we are seeking for the new northern franchise to tackle overcrowding with investment in new rolling stock to increase capacity by 37% on peak services into our northern cities at peak hours. There will be improvement on the line.

Being aware of your HIV status is really important and an earlier diagnosis can mean a healthier and longer life.
