A newborn baby who died after being left outside a church vicarage was abandoned in a supermarket carrier bag.
The boy was found outside St Peter's Church, in Hough Lane, Bramley, on Wednesday morning. It is believed he had only recently been born before he was left by the doorstep.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance but was later pronounced dead.
West Yorkshire Police said the white baby boy was found in a Tesco bag for life.

The baby found dying on a vicarage doorstep yesterday morning had been left in a Tesco bag, police have revealed.
At a press conference this afternoon, police said the white baby boy was discovered along with the placenta in the bag on the doorstep of St Peter's Church in Bramley.
The boy was rushed to hospital by ambulance but was pronounced dead.
The cause of death is unclear.
Police believe the baby had been born shortly before he was left on the doorstep and believe the mother may be desperately in need of medical attention and appealed for her to get in touch.

The funeral of Bradford City's, external all-time top goalscorer, Bobby Campbell, is taking place at Huddersfield Parish Church this afternoon.
Police have released an, external efit image of a suspected robber following a knifepoint theft in Fartown, Huddersfield.
The robbery happened at a shop on Bradford Road near Allison Drive at about 16:30 on Friday 11 November when a knife-wielding man demanded cash from a lone worker.
The suspect is described as white, possibly Eastern European, aged 25 to 30, 5ft 11in to 6ft tall, with a very skinny frame and a large nose.
He was wearing a white face mask with a red design on it.

The child's mother may be in need of urgent medical attention given the potential circumstances surrounding the baby's birth, police say.
A former West Yorkshire Police officer who was on duty at the Bradford City fire in 1985 is due to sell his bravery medals for charity today.
The medals are being auctioned-off by Terence Slocombe, who says the money from the sale will go to the burns unit created as a result of the tragedy at Valley Parade.
A total of 56 people died and more than 250 others were injured in the disaster at the Bradford City ground, which was one of the biggest at a British football ground.

The family of a 24-year-old man whose body was found at his flat in Leeds last week say they've been left "broken-hearted" by his death.
Christopher Laskaris was found at St John's Close in Hyde Park on 17 November.
A 37-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, both from Leeds, have been arrested on suspicion of his murder
In a statement, external, Mr Laskaris' family said he was a "deeply loved" son and brother.
"Words cannot express our pain. He was 24 years old and his future has been tragically cut short," they say.
The family also has urged anyone with any information to contact West Yorkshire Police.
