    The future of Bradford Bulls could soon be secured after the club went into administration for the third time earlier this month.

    Joint-administrator Gary Petitt has told me the club's aiming to secure a deal with a new owner in the next two weeks.

    Last week, it seemed there were six parties interested in the Odsal club, but Petitt has told me he now believes there are 12 - with four of them being "serious":

    University of Leeds researchers in Tadcaster are trying to find out how to breed the perfect pig. 

    The university's been given £3m of government funding for its specialist farm in Tadcaster, which will monitor how piglets grow. 

    Hannah Davis, a PhD student involved in the project, says they're going to follow every area of individual pigs' development:

    Professor Helen Miller, director of the University Farm, says: "We are making the investment to create new knowledge which will benefit both British pigs and the pig industry.

    "One of the areas we will study in this new facility is how to improve outdoor sow nutrition to maximise the well-being and productivity of individual animals.

    "This should also result in improved profitability, providing significant support for individual farmers and for larger businesses across the rural economy."

    Huddersfield man Sean Doyle had a cardiac arrest while on a run in his local park and he puts his survival down to the care he got at the A&E just a short distance away.

    Now Huddersfield Royal Infirmary's A&E services is set to move to Calderdale Royal Hospital, nearly six miles away in Halifax, with Huddersfield retaining an Urgent Care Centre. 

    Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust says the change will streamline services and provide patients with better treatment. But campaigners like Sean are not convinced:

    There's been more reaction this morning to the life sentence given to the man who murdered Yorkshire MP Jo Cox.

    Yesterday, Thomas Mair, 53, was found guilty of the fatal attack in Birstall, West Yorkshire, on 16 June.

    Rachael Maskell (pictured), York's Labour MP, who started her time in Parliament at the same time as Mrs Cox, has told BBC Radio York's Georgey Spanswick that they enjoyed spending time together and that the MP was "a huge force for good":

  9. Missing woman found 'safe and well'published at 10:17 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2016

    A North Yorkshire woman who's been missing for six days, sparking a police appeal for help from friends and family in West Yorkshire, has been found.

    Kathryn Summersgill, who has links to Collingham, Yeadon and Ilkley, was reported missing earlier this week after friends received letters from her and became concerned for her welfare.

    Her car was later found in a car park in North Yorkshire with a parking ticket bought last Friday.

    Ms Summersgill was found "safe and well" in the Buckden area, say North Yorkshire Police.

    Supporters of the murdered West Yorkshire MP Jo Cox say they'll continue to build on her legacy as her killer begins a life sentence in jail. 

    Thomas Mair, 53, was found guilty at the Old Bailey yesterday of the fatal attack and given a whole-life tariff.

    Tracy Brabin, elected as the new Batley and Spen Labour MP last month, says she agrees completely with comments made by Mrs Cox's husband that her life should be celebrated:

    Leeds boxer Natasha Gale has won middleweight gold at the European Women's Boxing Championships, beating Maily Nicar of France in the final.

    The 28-year-old secured a unanimous victory in Sofia to become European champion in her first appearance at a major championship. 

    Gale emulates the achievement of Olympic gold medallist Nicola Adams, also from Leeds, who won the title in 2011. 

    Gale says: "To be European champion this early in my career is incredible. I am still learning and am so excited for what is still to come."

    Friends and family of a North Yorkshire woman who's been missing for six days are being asked to urgently get in touch with police, external.

    Kathryn Summersgill, a keen walker who recently moved from Worcestershire to Yorkshire, was reported missing at the start of this week.

    The alarm was raised by friends who received letters from Ms Summersgill and who became concerned for her welfare.

    Her car, containing a parking ticket bought at 09:25 on Friday, was later found in Buckden car park in Upper Wharfedale.

    Sgt Trevor Burton, from North Yorkshire Police, says: "We believe Kathryn has a sister who lived in the Leeds area and that she may have family in Collingham and Yeadon. We also believe she has friends in Ilkley."
