    Back in October, Leeds City Council gave the go-ahead for an aerial obstacle course at Roundhay Park. From today you can have your say on whether you think it's a good idea or not.

    The council are asking for the public's views on a "Go Ape" that will be based in the park.

    You can give them your two pence worth via their website, external, you have until 7 January to do it.

    If you live in Leeds, how often do you find yourself shouting at a computer/phone/tablet when you tell the device you live in Leeds?

    More often than not it'll gleefully ask you if you mean Leeds village in Kent. NO! Of course I don't. I don't live in the place that's home to 790 people, I live in the place that has 767,000 people.

    And now Facebook's at it, this time offering one of our colleagues here at BBC Leeds a hotel in Leeds, but with a picture of Leeds Castle in Kent.

    Calderdale Council's been named as having one of the highest number of under-performing primary schools in the country.

    The figures come from the latest primary school league tables, which are based on the new tougher tests last summer. 

    Nationally, only 53% of final year pupils passed the SATS and headteachers are urging parents to ignore the results.

    A councillor who posted an offensive message on social media in the wake of MP Jo Cox's murder should resign, a committee has concluded.

    Dominic Peacock, 60, was expelled from the Conservative party for mocking a fundraising effort in memory of the MP.

    East Riding of Yorkshire Council's standards committee called his comments "offensive, crude and disrespectful".

    Mr Peacock can continue until the 2019 election. He is yet to comment on the finding.

    Former Yorkshire miners are demonstrating in London today over the decision not to investigate events at the so-called Battle of Orgreave

    Members of the Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign will be outside the Home Office where, last October, it was decided there was no need for a public inquiry. 

    The campaign says there are still unanswered questions about the confrontation between thousands of pickets and police during the year-long miners' strike. 

    Home Secretary Amber Rudd has said there have been major changes to policing since 1984 and an inquiry would not be in the public interest.

    A South Yorkshire rugby league club has said it has been forced to move almost 30 miles away from its home city to a new base in West Yorkshire.

    Sheffield Eagles said it had failed to find a venue in the city for the 2017 season, but had reached agreement to use Wakefield Trinity's Belle Vue Stadium.

    The club has been without a permanent home since the 2013 demolition of the Don Valley Stadium.

    Sheffield City Council said it was working with the club to secure its future in the city.

    If you're heading out for your work's Christmas party soon, then you're being promised extra protection if you're getting a taxi home in Leeds.

    Leeds City Council says it'll be extending the use of CCTV cameras to monitor movements of the cars - and analysing footage to prosecute drivers who breach their licences by illegally plying for hire.

    The University of Leeds is to strengthen its relationship with one of the big colleges in China - in a move which will also lead to students from both countries working more closely together.

    It's signed a "memorandum of understanding" with Shanghai Jiao Tong University (pictured), which paves the way for more co-operation on research projects, such as engineering, science and humanities. 

    Leeds University says it hopes the results will have an impact across the world.

    Check out this ex-phonebox in Kirklees which has been turned into a Christmas decoration for everyone to enjoy.

    The villagers of Upper Hopton, near Mirfield, have transformed it into a Christmas scene and BT are hoping more imaginative uses for their boxes will follow.

    There are more than 200 phones boxes across Yorkshire due to be decommissioned, 50 of them are red and BT are encouraging people to adopt them.

    A 29-year-old man has died after he fled a police patrol car in Shelf last night.

    The man, who was driving a red Seat Ibiza, made off from the police car on Halifax Road at about 20:40 on Wednesday.

    The car then crashed into a house near Cooper Lane. The man suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

    West Yorkshire Police say an immediate referral has been made to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

    A new hub to give people advice on flooding has opened on Kirkstall Road in Leeds, external - an area particularly affected by the flooding which hit parts of West Yorkshire last Christmas.

    The Team Kirkstall Regeneration Hub will give people easy access to flood resilience advice and provide an opportunity to share local knowledge, according to Leeds City Council.

    Across Leeds, the Boxing Day floods affected more than 2,000 homes and 600 businesses.

    Phase one of a  £50m Leeds Flood Alleviation Scheme, external should be complete by summer 2017 and aims to increase protection against flooding from the River Aire and the Hol Beck on Water Lane.
