    After plumbing problems dogged the pools at Barnsley Metrodome during this half-term week, things are now back to normal.

    The venue wasn't able to get enough water into the pools which left them closed for two days.

    A North Yorkshire man's died after becoming trapped beneath a forklift truck.

    It happened at a scrapyard in Cumbria yesterday.

    The man was from Skipton.

    He was freed by firefighters and flown to hospital by air ambulance, but died.

    The Health and Safety Executive is examining the circumstances of his death.

    The air ambulance has been called to a car crash on the A618 in North Yorkshire.

    The road has been closed between Thirsk and Northallerton at Thornton Le Moor.

    Sheffield's former world boxing champion Kell Brook has been speaking candidly about his fight with depression.

    The fighter's explosive career has seen great highs as he rose to the top of the boxing tree; but the lows of defeat left him more battered than by any human opponent.

    In returning to the ring, he'll be taking on Sergey Rabchenko on 3 March at the Sheffield Arena.

    Ahead of that fight Brook has been telling me about his struggles with depression:

    Police say they're trying to find this teenager who's gone missing from Peterborough but could be in West Yorkshire.

    Taybah Khan, 13, was last seen at about 22:30 last night in Bretton, but is from Bradford.

    She was visiting family in Peterborough but officers say she could have returned to West Yorkshire.

    The teenager was last seen wearing black leggings with a black sweatshirt and grey and white Adidas trainers.

  6. Funeral held of TV farmer Hannah Hauxwellpublished at 13:42 Greenwich Mean Time 16 February 2018

    The funeral has taken place for Hannah Hauxwell whose tough life as a farmer in the north of England featured in a series of television programmes.

    Hannah Hauxwell found fame in the 1970s as the programmes showed her difficult and remote life in Baldersdale, near Barnard Castle.

    She died aged 91 at a nursing home in West Auckland, County Durham, in January.

    The service took place at Barnard Castle Methodist Church.

    It was in 1973 when Yorkshire Television's documentary Too Long A Winter introduced Hannah.

    Viewers saw her struggle to run the 80-acre Low Birk Hatt farm after the death of her parents, and attempting to survive on less than £200 per year.

    The Reverend Beverley Hollings, who took the service, said: "People just admired her for her determination for keeping going in those conditions."

    The recent cold snap is taking its toll on Yorkshire's water pipes - with 400 burst pipes in Leeds in the last three months alone.

    Over Yorkshire 1,100 leaks on the water system were repaired in just December - a record according to Yorkshire Water.

    The freezing weather causes underground pipes to contract and thaw, resulting in leaks or bursts occurring which are then fixed.

    Yorkshire Water say they have a team of 200 "leakage inspectors" using drones, "acoustic ears" and even satellites to find leaks.

    Sheffield's commonwealth squash champion Nick Matthew is to defend his title at a fourth - and final - Games.

    The 37-year-old is one of nine players named in the England squad for the 2018 Games on Australia's Gold Coast.

    Matthew is joined by 2014 silver medallists Laura Massaro, Alison Waters, Jennifer Duncalf and James Willstrop.

    "For a while I didn't think I'd make it to my fourth Games," said the former world number one.

    The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall have unveiled a new commemorative plaque at the Piece Hall in Halifax.

    Charles and Camilla are on a one-day tour of Yorkshire where their next stop will be Square Chapel Arts Centre and Dean Clough.

    They arrived at 11:00 and later today Prince Charles will restart work at a once mothballed steel works in South Yorkshire.

    Police want to speak to the man in this CCTV image about reports of an armed robbery in Sheffield.

    Police are investigating a report that three men, one of whom was armed with what is believed to have been a gun, went into a property on Avisford Road in Southey Green on Monday night and demanded cash and car keys.

    Nothing was taken in the incident.

    A man has been arrested after a gun was fired during a break-in at flat in Bradford yesterday

    It happened just before midnight in Wedgemoor Close in Wyke when a member of the public phoned police to report men trying to get into a flat.

    When police arrived they saw that a door had been damaged by a gunshot and the flat had been searched.

    A 25-year-old man from Bradford has been arrested and is still in custody.

    It's estimated two and a half million miles in bus journeys have been lost in parts of North Yorkshire over the last five years, according to research by the BBC.

    That's a fifth of the entire service.

    Experts say it's because more people using their cars, coupled with cuts to public funding.

    The government says it invests £250m a year to support the bus network.

    The nine-time British Champion and double European Champion will be riding in his home city of Sheffield next month.

    The event will be part of the Outdoor City Weekender, external, a big attraction for lovers of outdoor activities.

    Peat will be competing in a mountain biking equivalent of downhill skiing.

    There'll be a specially-created double slalom course on Howard Street, which leads down from Arundel Gate towards the main railway station.

    An MP from West Yorkshire is calling for an independent review on unreleased files from the Battle of Orgreave.

    Thousands of police officers and miners were involved in violent clashes at the coke plant in South Yorkshire in 1984 - in 2016 Home Secretary Amber Rudd ruled out any investigation into the incident.

    Huge lines of police clashed with striking miners as they tried to stop lorries carrying coke to fuel the Scunthorpe steel furnaces.

    In a statement to the House of Commons in October 2016, Mrs Rudd said: "Despite the forceful accounts and arguments provided by the campaigners and former miners who were present that day about the effect that these events have had on them, ultimately there were no deaths or wrongful convictions."

    But today Pontefract and Castleford MP and chair of the Home Affairs Select Committee Yvette Cooper says in a letter , external"Coalfield communities need to know the truth about what happened at Orgreave."

    "We have been pushing and pushing to uncover the documents and information that police forces hold on what happened. Now we have discovered there are hundreds of files on Orgreave that have never been released."
