    In a bid to get more companies to change their vehicle fleets, Sheffield City Council is testing five hydrogen-powered vans, external.

    Kylie Minogue has announced that she's coming to Leeds Arena for the first time as part of her new tour later this year.

    The Australian pop star, who is well-known for her flamboyant and colourful shows, will tour the UK and Ireland.

    Her new album "Golden" is due out next month.

    Tickets for the show at the First Direct Arena go on sale on Friday 2 March.

    A three-day celebration of Yorkshire's most beloved pink vegetable returns today.

    The Wakefield Rhubarb Festival, which is now in its 12th year, starts this morning.

    The council says it is an important boost to the local economy.

    Visitors will have the chance to see and taste rhubarb inspired food.

    You'll also be able to seen how it is grown.

    You can also have a go at extracting rhubarb DNA.

    Mary Vunana was last seen on Tuesday morning as she left for school and but failed to return home.

    Turmoil at the City of York Council continued last night as former leader David Carr quit the Conservative Party and councillors failed to appoint a new leader of the authority.

    It had been expected that councillor Ian Gillies would take over from David Carr, who was sacked after a vote of no confidence by his own party.

    Councillor Gillies failed to get the support he needed.

    David Carr accused part of his party of betrayal.

    He told a full council meeting that he and fellow member Suzie Mercer will now serve as independents.

    He said it was a tough decision.

    A new exhibition looking at the life and legacy of Anne Frank is coming to Rotherham.

    The Diary of Anne Frank is a global bestseller, describing the Jewish girl's life in hiding with her family in Nazi-occupied Amsterdam in World War Two.

    The Frank family were deported to Auschwitz death camp in 1944, and Anne died later in Bergen-Belsen concentration camp at the age of 15.

    The Anne Frank and You exhibition includes a replica of her bedroom and diary and looks at how her work can be linked to more contemporary issues like prejudice, violence and women's rights.

    It's taking place until 30 March in the library at Riverside House.

    Do you know this man? Police in Harrogate want to speak to him after a man inappropriately touched a woman then assaulted another man.

    It happened on 9 February at the Revolution de Cuba bar in Harrogate.

    A 34-year-old woman from Leeds was inappropriately touched by a man at about midnight.

    The same man then assaulted a 33-year-old man, also from Leeds,.who was pushed over and left with a cut on his nose, bruising around his eye, a swollen neck and cuts on his arm.

  17. Woman hiding in fridge among three arrested over theftspublished at 17:31 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February 2018

    Three people, including one woman police found hiding in a fridge, have been charged over burglary offences in Selby.

    Officers say they found a number of stolen items when the three were arrested, including handbags, power tools, a horse harness, a cat carrier and this pocket watch:

    A 41-year-old man and a 31-year-old man, both from Selby, were arrested in a tent in Barlow Grange Woods earlier this week and have been charged with burglary offences.

    A 32-year-old woman who was found hiding in her fridge at a house in Barlby has also been charged with similar offences.

    All three have been remanded in custody to appear at court next month and police have issued an appeal to help return the stolen items to their owners, external.

    One of three men accused of murdering a 23-year-old man admitted in prison to ordering the killing, a jury has heard.

    Matthew Cohen, 29, is alleged to have told an inmate at HMP Doncaster he told Dale Gordon, 33, to shoot Aseel Al-Essaie in February 2017.

    Mr Al-Essaie died after he was shot at point blank range as he sat in his car on Daniel Hill, Sheffield.

    Mr Cohen, of Bramwell Close, Mr Gordon, of St Phillip's Road, and Keil Bryan, 32, of Brackley Street, are on trial at Sheffield Crown Court. All three deny murder.

    The trial continues.
