    Hundreds of people have been stranded in their cars and lorrys overnight on the M62 between West Yorkshire and Manchester.

    Police are urging people not to travel across the Pennines unless necessary, because of the high winds and snow.

    The west and eastbound carriageways have been closed because of treacherous conditions and many people are being brought onto the side roads, only to be stuck on those as well.

    Have you seen Doncaster teenager Riley Reside? He's been missing from his home for over a week and police are concerned for his welfare.

    Riley, 15, left home in Denaby Main on Sunday 18 February, was reported missing the following day, but returned home briefly at about 22:25 on 21 February before leaving again.

    He's understood to have contacted a friend yesterday.

    Riley is originally from the Rotherham area and police believe he may well have travelled there.

    Anyone with information about his whereabouts is being asked by police to get in touch.

    A baby girl has been born by the side of the road during a snow storm.

    Daniella Waring went into labour this morning at home in Catterick, North Yorkshire, and she and her husband Andrew set off for hospital.

    Heading across the A66, they ran into heavy snow and realised they did not have time to get to hospital.

    They pulled over on to the side of the road in County Durham and Daniella gave birth before paramedics, who were driving up and down the road looking for her, arrived.

    Both mother and baby were "happy and warm" when they were eventually located at Elton by a response car.

    After being checked over at the scene, they were driven to hospital by a North East Ambulance Service crew.

    The newborn girl has been named Sienna.

  19. Campsite tunnel reveals gun, cash and cannabispublished at 16:54 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March 2018

    A man has been arrested after a search at a Barnsley campsite revealed cash, cannabis and a firearm.

    Police say they found an underground tunnel and what seemed to be a cannabis cultivation site at the campsite on Moor Lane in Brierley.

    Dried cannabis, £31,000 in cash, and a firearm were seized.

    A man in his 60s has been arrested on suspicion of money laundering and remains in custody, say police.
