A man who attacked and killed a schoolgirl 46 years ago has been found guilty of violently raping a second girl in the same year.
Peter Pickering - who was dubbed the Beast of Wombwell after he abducted, raped and killed a 14-year-old girl - has been detained in psychiatric hospitals since 1972.
He admitted the manslaughter of schoolgirl Shirley Boldy, in the Barnsley area of South Yorkshire.
A woman who is now in her 60s has told a jury that she thought she was going to be killed when she was violently raped by Pickering in his van just a few weeks before he went on to kill Shirley Boldy.
Pickering, who declined to give evidence in his trial, was found guilty by a jury after two hours of deliberations.

Two students from Sheffield who have battled eating disorders are calling on the government to take action against websites that damage mental health.
Jessica Mell and Aiden Mortimer say there needs to be a pop-up system that blocks harmful material and directs people towards support instead.
Jessica says her own experience of searching for support websites resulted in her finding harmful content.
"When I was trying to find a positive eating disorder recovery blog, I would click on one website link and it would automatically pop up with something that was very damaging and obviously quite distressing for somebody that was trying to find help," she said.
The pair have set up a petition , externaland say they need 10,000 signatures for it to be considered in parliament.
A safeguarding conference in Keighley this month aims to make the town, external the “very best in the country” at protecting its children.

Police investigating a car crash in which a 38-year-old woman was killed are appealing for people to come forward with dash-cam footage.
Julie Marlow (pictured) from Pontefract died in the crash which happened on Wrangbrook Lane in Upton, just off the A1, at about 07:45 on 13 February.
Ms Marlow was driving a black Mercedes towards the A1 when the car she was driving was in collision with a lorry. Her car was also hit by what's described as a "smaller goods vehicle".
Both these vehicles were travelling in the opposite direction to Ms Marlow's car.
She was airlifted to hospital but died later that afternoon.
Two 42-year-old men are still in hospital with serious injuries.

Police want to speak with him about an allegation of assault outside the Revolution De Cuba bar on Call Lane in Leeds.
During the alleged incident a man had his jaw broken.
Police say it happened on Friday 2 February between 02:30 and 03:10.
The man pictured was wearing a dark coloured jumper and dark jeans and was with another man and two women.
An 82-year-old man and his family have been left "extremely upset" after a distinctive football medal was stolen from their home.
The FA Cup medal was given to Barnsley FC players following their win against West Brom in 1912 - it was given to the great-grandfather of the 82-year-old man.
Police say the medal is engraved with the name Philip Wright Bratley and is an invaluable item to the family.
Detectives believe it was stolen from the property on Weetwood Road in the Spinneyfield area of Rotherham between Friday 16 March and Saturday 17 March.
The burglars got in through a back door and ransacked the house taking a number of other items too.

The National Park Authority's hoping to secure more money to continue work recording and conserving a range of monuments and heritage sites.

The picture above of the viaduct over Kirkstall Road shows how some areas of the city were affected.
The tree planting scheme follows a study of the river Aire catchment area, after Storm Eva damaged 3,355 properties in the city in December 2015.
It's hoped the trees will form a natural barrier against floodwater on the upper reaches of the river at Gargrave near Skipton.
The leader of Leeds Council, Judith Blake, will plant the first of 450 trees at Eshton Beck.

The funeral of a man who died saving a friend while ski-ing in France will be held at York Minster today.
Jordan Waugh, 23, fell to his death in the French Alps last month.
French authorities said Mr Waugh was one of three men who went off-piste at Alpe d'Huez and fell in steep and icy conditions at the ski resort. The other men were rescued.
Jordan's family say he fell from a cliff after trying to help his friend who got into difficulties.
Jordan grew up in York and went to All Saints RC School and York College.
UKIP has been ordered to pay £175,000 in legal costs over a defamation case brought by three South Yorkshire Labour MPs.
The party was told to pay towards costs incurred by Rotherham MPs Sir Kevin Barron, Sarah Champion and John Healey.
Jane Collins, MEP for Yorkshire and the Humber, had made remarks about Rotherham's child abuse scandal.
She was ordered to give £54,000 to each MP in February 2017, but did not pay.
The interim payment order comes days after the party's leader, Gerard Batten, issued a plea for cash for the party, saying £100,000 must be raised by the end of March.
A hearing in February ruled that UKIP took a to ensure the defamation action brought by the three MPs against Ms Collins should not be settled before the 2015 general election.
UKIP now have 14 days to make the £175,000 payment, ordered by Justice Warby at the High Court.
