    A Sheffield councillor who spoke out against online abuse has once again been targeted by insults.

    Earlier this month, Councillor Jayne Dunn revealed she had been targeted by different men, both online and in person.

    She said she feared she would be raped after one anonymous man abused her online and her home was broken in to.

    But she now has suffered more personal abuse, this time on You Tube.

    A council officer has also been abused.

    The latest attacks come in the same week that London Mayor Sadiq Khan says women are being deterred from entering politics because of online abuse.

  3. Watch: Knitted RAF tribute in North Yorkshire townpublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 28 March 2018

    Here is the Thirsk "yarnbombers" knitted tribute to the RAF which is currently on display in the North Yorkshire market town.

    Members of the group have covered bollards with knitted aircraft as well as hanging spirals and pom poms from the trees.

    They have previously knitted special designs to celebrate the Tour de Yorkshire and to commemorate Remembrance Day.

    Passengers travelling by train in East Yorkshire over Easter are being urged to check routes beforehand.

    Network Rail says some services will be hit as upgrade work continues as part of the Great North Rail Project, external.

    There'll be no trains between Hull, Goole and Selby from Saturday 31 March to Monday 2 April.

    Bus replacement services will be available.

    Labour's ruling National Executive Committee is coming under growing pressure from senior party members in Yorkshire to allow the Barnsley MP Dan Jarvis to stand for South Yorkshire Mayor in May and remain a member of Parliament.

    The party's NEC had ruled that a winning candidate could not hold two jobs.

    Today's Google front page features a doodle celebrating the 310th birthday of the woman who popularised the Yorkshire pudding.

    Food writer Hannah Glasse is widely credited with changing the name from 'dripping pudding' to Yorkshire pudding in her book 'The Art of Cookery made Plain and Easy' - although she didn't actually live in Yorkshire!

    Despite this, she struggled with financial trouble later in life and was imprisoned as a result.

    Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda has announced his first UK shows since the death of bandmate Chester Bennington.

    The rapper and keyboardist will play at the Reading and Leeds festivals this summer.

    Chester, Linkin Park's lead singer, took his own life in July 2017 following a struggle with depression and addiction.

    Shinoda has described the grief he felt following his friend's death and how it fed into his latest EP Post Traumatic.

    We've been given a sneak peak of York's pop-up Shakespeare theatre as a test run was carried out at a "secret location" in North Yorkshire.

    This video shows a trial version of the construction, believed to be Europe's first ever pop-up Shakespearean theatre.

    The designs are being tested out before the real theatre is built in York's Castle car park opposite the landmark 13th Century Clifford's Tower.

    Other artists announced today for the festival, which takes place in August at Bramham Park, are grime artist Lady Leshurr and Leeds band Marsicans.

    They join a line-up that will be headlined by Fall Out Boy, Kendrick Lamar and Kings of Leon.

    Some fans described the initial line up as the "worst ever".

  11. Flypast at Yorkshire Air Museum to celebrate RAF centenarypublished at 13:42 British Summer Time 28 March 2018

    A flypast took place at the Yorkshire Air Museum this morning to mark a hundred years of the RAF.

    Ian Richardson, from the museum in Elvington, North Yorkshire, said: "You just think of the Battle of Britain during World War Two and all the campaigns the RAF undertook during those tumultuous times.

    "It's a century of selfless dedication and service to the nation, so its only right that we mark it."

    A pair of North Yorkshire war memorials have also been listed by Historic England to mark the centenary.

    One memorial is in Catterick and the other is in Egton Bridge, commemorating the death of Probationary Flying Officer Francis Titcomb in a plane crash on the North York Moors in 1917.

    North Yorkshire Police have shared photographs of a car crash in Ripon, North Yorkshire.

    Harrogate road policing team posted the photographs on Twitter.

    The images show a collision between a blue Skoda Rapid and a black Vauxhall Insignia near the auction mart in the cathedral city.

    This panoramic photograph shows a trial version of a replica 16th Century Shakespearean theatre which will come to York this summer.

  14. Yorkshire rapper says 'more to life than carrying a knife'published at 13:03 British Summer Time 28 March 2018

    A rapper from Huddersfield has lent his voice to a campaign against knife crime in West Yorkshire.

    Earlier we brought you the news that grime artist Graft was backing a campaign against knife crime.

    Graft features on a song called Knife High which was produced by Black Health Initiative, an organisation based in Leeds.

    Huddersfield rapper Zeeno Shortz (pictured) also features on the song.

    He said: "I want to send the message out, there's more to life than carrying a knife and taking someone else's life, there's repercussions to this."

  15. Barnsley man jailed for child sex offencespublished at 12:39 British Summer Time 28 March 2018

    A South Yorkshire man who sexually abused three young boys has been jailed for 25 years.

    Jamie Mann, 26, of Dennison Court, Barnsley, has been found guilty of 15 sexual offences, external against three boys, including rape and sexual assault.

    Police have praised his victims, all of whom were under 13 at the time of the offences.

    In a statement, South Yorkshire Police said: "Mann made efforts to gain the trust of these children, with the aim of abusing that trust to commit the most heinous of crimes against them for his own selfish sexual gratification."

    Throughout our investigation, despite the strong and extensive evidence gathered against him, Mann continued to deny his guilt, which resulted in a two-week trial in which his victims were forced to relive and recount their ordeals in court."

    Toby Nye was told he had a stage four neuroblastoma tumour in January 2017.

    Leeds United raised £200,000 to fund his treatment, with players and staff, including chairman Andrea Radrizzani, giving a day's salary - and many Leeds fans also donating.

    Midfielder Samuel Saiz gave the final £25,000 towards Toby's treatment.

    Leeds based Sky Bet has been fined £1m for "failing to protect vulnerable customers", the Gambling Commission has said.

    The company did not stop problem gamblers even after they had asked to be banned from its websites, the watchdog said.

    About 50,000 people who had excluded themselves still received marketing emails, texts or push notifications through a mobile app - 736 customers opened duplicate accounts.

    Sky Bet chief executive Richard Flint said the firm accepted that it "needed to do more" to stop self-excluded gamblers from opening duplicate accounts.

    He added that Sky Bet had tried to return the money that was gambled.

    A young mum from Barnsley and her two boys were left devastated by the suicide of her husband, Chris, a year ago.

    Jilly Hargreaves says she and her boys have been given vital support by the Army and charities.

    Now they're raising money for Scotty's Little Soldiers, which supports children who have lost a serving family member.
