A hearing in Bradford was told that Hayley Jackson of Orleans Street, Buttershaw - who was jailed last year - can only be ordered to hand over what's in her bank account.
The court was told Jackson, who's 41, took the money after the death of Philip Hardaker in 2015, and spent the money on clothes and jewellery.
The inheritance should have gone to Mr Hardaker's sister who lived in another part of the country, but she did not find out about his death for 20 months.

They're considering a trial of a modern version of prefabricated housing.
The government has given the council nearly £800,000 to help with its work on homelessness.
Prefab houses, like the ones above, were built soon after the second world war.
They were expected to have a lifespan of two decades or so, but many are still in use.

After a 14-year-old girl reported being sexually assaulted in Doncaster, police have released images of a man they're looking for.
The girl was attacked in Hexthorpe Park last Wednesday, external afternoon.
She's told police that after asking her the time the man sexually assaulted her before making off towards Oswin Avenue.
The wanted man wore a red coat.
The Chief Constable of North Yorkshire Police has announced his decision to retire from policing after almost 32 years as a policeman.
Dave Jones was appointed Chief Constable in 2013.
In 2016 he took temporary charge of South Yorkshire Police, after that force's Chief Constable, David Crompton, was suspended following the Hillsborough inquest jury's unlawful killing verdict.
On 1 January 2017 Mr Jones was awarded the Queen’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service in the New Year Honours List.
Police and Crime Commissioner, Julia Mulligan, said: “It was with great regret I have accepted Dave Jones’ decision to retire, but I completely understand and respect his wish to spend more time with his family."
He will step down immediately. North Yorkshire Police’s current Deputy, Lisa Winward, will assume temporary command until a permanent Chief Constable is recruited.

The coastguard at Whitby helped rescue a crew member of a yacht who had fallen overboard just over a mile out to sea from the town.
The RNLI in Whitby also launched the inshore lifeboat to help in the incident yesterday afternoon.
The rescued crew member was taken to the lifeboat station until the ambulance service arrived.
A man's been given a police caution after admitting shooting wild birds in Seamer near Scarborough because he "didn't like the sound of them."
Police received a report last month of several dead birds found in gardens and an air weapon being fired.
The man, in his 70s, said he believed he was within his rights to shoot the birds if they were "causing a nuisance and disturbing him."

Now news of a Yorkshire forester barking up a different tree when he looks to enter the world record books for running a marathon dressed as an oak.
Al Nash, a forester who oversees dozens of Woodland Trust sites across the north of England, is donning the leafy costume, when he pounds the 26.2 miles of the London Marathon at the weekend.
Al is thought to be the first person to run a marathon as an ancient oak tree - there are however records for Christmas trees.
All the money he raises will go towards the Woodland Trust.
Police in Bradford are trying to find a pregnant French bull terrier that was stolen during a burglary.
It happened last Thursday when suspects broke into a house on Calderstone Avenue.
They took two dogs but police say they've found one of them already.
But they're still trying to find the pregnant French bull terrier.
Officers have arrested a 47-year-old man in connection with the burglary.

The bravery of social club-goers in Harrogate has been praised after they restrained a weapon-wielding man.
Malcolm Paul Johnson assaulted a customer in a social club on East Parade in the town, left the club, but returned carrying an imitation firearm and a machete.
Officers say members of the public having a drink at the bar "intervened and disarmed him, eventually managing to get him away and the victim to safety."
Police found and arrested Johnson a short time later.
Johnson, 52, of Dragon Parade, Harrogate, pleaded guilty to drink driving, possession of an imitation firearm, possession of a knife in a public place, affray and assault.He was jailed for a total of four years and banned from driving for three and a half years at York Crown Court, where the judge commended the patrons of the club for their bravery.

Leeds gymnast Nile Wilson who picked up five medals at the Commonwealth Games says his run of form on the Gold Coast was "incredible".
The 22-year-old claimed victory in the high bar, all-around and the men's team event alongside Dominick Cunningham, James Hall, Courtney Tulloch and Max Whitlock.
He told BBC Breakfast "We knew we had a fantastic chance at the Commonwealth Games in terms of gymnastics, it's just about going out there and performing and we certainly did that as a team,"

It happened last Tuesday in a wooded area between Dacre Avenue and the M1.
The 44-year-old woman was walking near Airedale Heights when the man approached her, grabbed her and assaulted her, but she managed to break away - kicking her attacker.
She ran away and rang for help but was left with some minor injuries.
Police say they're looking for a white man in his 30’s wearing a black hooded jumper and dark clothing.
