New housing rules could "threaten" nature reserves, wildlife organisations in Yorkshire have warned.
The organisations, including the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, external, fear government proposals could mean nature reserves lose protection against inappropriate housing developments.
The government says the country needs to build more houses but that doesn't mean the rules protecting nature will be watered down.

VE Day, or Victory in Europe Day, was the public holiday which marked the formal acceptance by the Allied forces of Nazi Germany's unconditional surrender in 1945.
The veterans all took part in the D-Day landings in Normandy in 1944.

A nine-year-old boy from Castleford has become one of the first people in the world to have pioneering surgery to treat scoliosis.

He's played at Carlisle United, Wrexham, and Gateshead since his departure, but still lives in York.
Rail operator Northern is warning passengers to check before they travel later this week as members of the RMT union are expected to go on strike.
The industrial action on Wednesday will be part of an ongoing dispute over driver-only-operated trains.
Northern says it expects to operate about 65% of its normal weekday timetable.

A man has been arrested after a 32-year-old man died from serious injuries in Leeds this morning.
Officers were called to a house on Harold Grove in Hyde Park at about 03:30 after the victim was found badly hurt.
Paramedics tried to treat the man but he died at the scene.
His death is being treated as unexplained and a post-mortem examination is due to take place later, according to police.
A 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in custody.
Bradford City has confirmed that manager Simon Grayson has left the club.
In a statement from the club, external, which was released this lunchtime, Mr Grayson said: "After conversations with the owners I have decided to turn down the option to extend my contract."
The Bantams described his tenure at the club, which only began in February, as being impeccable and said they will look for a new manager this summer.
