    England Lions booked their place in the final of the A Team Tri-Series Final with a comfortable nine-wicket win over West Indies A at Wantage Road, Northampton.

    Hampshire pair Liam Dawson and Reece Topley both showed top form ahead of Saturday's One-Day Cup final at Lord's, taking four wickets apiece as the Windies were bowled out for 162.

    Yorkshire's Tom Kohler-Cadmore then hit 80 not out, sharing an unbroken stand of 120 with Warwickshire's Sam Hain, who made 48 as the Lions reached 163-1 in just 25 of their allotted 50 overs,

    That booked another meeting with Tuesday's conquerors India A in this Monday's final at The Oval (2 July).

    The National Videogame Arcade is moving to Sheffield, after out-growing their Nottingham home.

    The museum, which opened in 2015 after receiving £2.5m of funding, said it had become "increasingly hard to work" in the "lovely but eccentric" listed building in which it is based.

    The Nottingham site will close after a summer programme of events.

    Four fire crews are now tackling a large grass fire near Huddersfield.

    They were called out to the rear of Banks Road in Golcar at 14.23.

    A stretch of grass land 300 metres by 300 metres was on fire.

    Four fire engines are now on site - two from Huddersfield, one from Slaithwaite and one from Rastrick station.

    Police are searching for a man after a 17-year-old girl reported she had been touched inappropriately in the Hexthorpe area of Doncaster.

    A man is alleged to have approached the girl and put his hand on her leg.

    He then is said to have inappropriately touched her, before she pushed him away and left the area.

    Police say it happened at about 21:30 on Monday 23 April on Ellerker Avenue.

    They've released an e-fit picture of a person who they think could help them with their investigation.

    The man who's brought racing to Oliver's Mount in Scarborough for the last 40 years is to retire at the end of this month.

    Peter Hillaby was due to step down from his role at PMH Promotions and Auto 66 at the end of the year, but he's now been advised to leave on Saturday "due to the amount of stress caused in the last three or four months".

    Racing at the Scarborough circuit is currently suspended because of strict new safety rules.

    Charities in Harrogate are about to receive a small boost with the introduction of a new lottery scheme.

    The Local Lotto, an online-only lottery, is set to start next month and has been set up by Harrogate District Council.

    Tickets will cost £1 - 60p of every ticket sold going to good causes across the area and the remainder will be split between prize money and running costs.

    The first weekly draw is scheduled for September 8.

    The new Doncaster Rovers boss Grant McCann says he's already looking into the transfer market to help strengthen his side.

    He was only announced as their manager yesterday and said he already had a few thought on bringing players in.

    "The longer you leave it, the good players are leaving to other clubs", he said.

    "We've got a couple of plates spinning, and people know of our interest in one of two others. We'll see how the next few days go."

    Firefighters are tackling a blaze in grassland near woods at Golcar, Huddersfield.

    They were called at about 14.25 to Banks Road and found a 150 metre stretch of grass alight.

    Smoke can be seen rising above the tree line.

    The fire service said the incident is ongoing.

  13. Free parking trial for flood-hit townpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 28 June 2018

    Businesses in Elland are welcoming plans for a free parking trial, which aims to increase footfall in the area.

    Free parking will be available in Coronation Street car park, one of the busiest parking areas, from Monday.

    The trial was agreed by Calderdale Council’s cabinet earlier this month to help bring in more shoppers and boost business.

    The town's bridge was closed for more than a year after the Boxing Day floods of 2015.

    The town has also seen bank closures and the loss of the local swimming baths.

    Elland businesses and residents submitted a petition to the council for more free, short-term parking in the town centre.

    The trial will be reviewed after six months.

    They ask visitors to enjoy the park, but to be extra careful.
