    The 27-year-old rejoined the Tigers from Leigh in December and has scored four tries in eight Super League games.

    A public hearing was told there had been a "catastrophic failure" in building affordable housing in Leeds, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

    Evidence was heard on the second day of a public hearing into Leeds City Council plans on where tens of thousands of new houses should be built over the next decade.

    But the big talking point was the usage of city centre sites being used to build new houses.

    Christopher Young QC told the meeting there had been too many expensive homes built in the city centre over the last few years - making it difficult for people on lower incomes to afford new houses.

    Victims of domestic abuse in West Yorkshire are to get more help with legal advice because of a cash injection from the man who oversees the county's police force.

    Bradford-based charity Staying Put is one of the projects that's won a share of almost £1m from Police and Crime Commissioner Mark Burns-Williamson.

    They'll use it to help survivors who can't get access to legal aid from the government.

    Images have been released after bank cards were stolen and then used in the Gleadless area of Sheffield.

    The burglary happened in May with police now releasing pictures of a woman they'd like to speak to after the bank cards were used in a shop.

    Leeds Rhinos have signed Wests Tigers half-back Tuimoala Lolohea on a three-year deal.

    The 23-year-old Tonga international will join the Headingley side from his Australian club for the 2019 season.

    Yorkshire chairman Steve Denison has resigned a few weeks after being banned from accountancy for 15 years.

    In June, Denison admitted misconduct over the 2014 audit of BHS and the Taveta Group, which controls Topshop.

    He had been chairman for the last three years and said he "did not want his situation to be a distraction"., external

    Denison added: "To say I'm heartbroken is a massive understatement at what has already been an incredibly difficult time for me and my family."

    Police investigating the death of a woman in York say that anyone who saw a fight between two men on the night she died could have vital information.

    The body of a 25-year-old woman was found inside a house on Fourth Avenue on 2 July after police were called because of "concerns for her welfare".

    Detectives say they want to speak to people who saw or heard a fight between two men near shops on Fourth Avenue on 30 June through to the early hours of 1 July.

    A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder but he has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

    Today the 160th Great Yorkshire show got underway in Harrogate, it's one of the biggest events in the agricultural calendar.

    It will continue until Thursday, with the event said to be pulling in £47m for the local economy.

    A Leeds city centre statue is showing its support for the England national team, after it was given a makeover and dressed in flags with a St George's Cross on.

    The Black Prince statue in City Square even has a football, ready to be hoofed home.

    Leeds Town Hall and Leeds Civic Hall will also be lit up in red and white on Tuesday and Wednesday to mark England's game against Croatia on Wednesday night.

    Mark Calvert was last seen in the south of the city on 27 May.

    Police say the 16-year-old might be sleeping rough.

    Officers say he was injured in a motorbike crash and may need further treatment.

    A pub in Halifax has been named Yorkshire's favourite pub, for a second time.

    The Shibden Mill Inn has won the honour after the contest run by Welcome to Yorkshire, which received a record number of almost 20,000 votes this year.

    Eric Pollard from Emmerdale (the actor Chris Chittell) presented the prize at the Welcome to Yorkshire stand at the Great Yorkshire Show earlier on today.

    The Shibden Mill Inn was originally a corn and spinning mill in the 17th century, converted into a country pub in 1890.

    Police are appealing for information after a 32-year-old man has gone missing near Sheffield.

    Richard Crapper was last seen at about midday in Woodhouse today, Tuesday 10 July.

    He is believed to be wearing a grey Superdry t-shirt, Superdry jogging bottoms and Converse trainers.

  13. Fresh appeal on missing man's 25th birthdaypublished at 15:26 British Summer Time 10 July 2018

    Police are again appealing for help to find a man from Doncaster who went missing 10 years ago, on what is his 25th birthday.

    On 14 September 2007, 14-year-old Andrew Gosden walked out of the family home in Doncaster, boarded a train to London with a one-way ticket and then simply vanished.

    He was last captured on CCTV at King's Cross station. As the video above shows, his father Kevin says not knowing leaves him in "an endless limbo".

    Police want anyone who believes they know a 25-year-old man that could be Andrew to get in touch.

    Some more details now on the crash on the A19 which has closed the road in both directions by Crathorne.

    A woman has been taken to James Cook with serious injuries by land ambulance.

    An air ambulance did come but was not needed.

    Police say the crash involved a Volvo S40, a Ford Transit van and a Scania lorry.

    A lorry transporting about six tonnes of stale bread overturned in Wakefield this morning, causing severe congestion.

    It happened at the Newton Hill roundabout on the A650 - one of the main routes into the city.

    The driver had to be taken to hospital to be checked over.

    Emergency services bought in heavy lifting equipment to put the lorry back on it's wheels, but was too badly damaged to be driven off.

    The road was closed until after lunchtime, causing bad congestion in the area for several hours.

    It does pose a tricky question though, do you bake at night but keep your collection of rare spoons (just an example) safe?

    Or do you cool off and risk having some oik drive off in your car?

    Personally for us on the BBC Yorkshire Live blog it isn't a problem, they provide us with servants to fan us during the night.

  17. Overturned car closes A19published at 14:10 British Summer Time 10 July 2018

    A car has landed on its roof after leaving the southbound carriageway of a Yorkshire road and landing on the northbound stretch.

    Police have fully closed the A19, near Stokesley in North Yorkshire in both directions, between East Harsley and Kirklevington.

    Officers say three vehicles are involved in the incident and one person is being treated by ambulance crews.

    It's not yet clear how long the road will be closed and motorists are advised to seek alternative routes and avoid the area until further notice.

  19. Doncaster hospital 'requires improvement'published at 13:51 British Summer Time 10 July 2018

    Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals Trust requires improvement, according to the Care Quality Commission, external (CQC).

    The CQC report says some changes have been made since their last report in 2015, when they also required improvement, and highlights that the trust is caring, responsive and well-led.

    However, there is still work to be done when it comes to being effective, responsive and safe before it can achieve an overall rating of good, the CQC said.
