A Pankhurst Party will be held in Leeds on Sunday to celebrate one hundred years since women getting the vote.
Hundreds of parties are taking place around the UK to mark the birthday of Suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst.
The Leeds event starts at 10.30 on the Leeds Town Hall steps in Victoria Square.
A wreath will also be laid in honour of Emmeline Pankhurst who was born on 14 July, 1858, in Moss Side, Manchester.
In 1903 she, along with daughters Sylvia and Christabel, founded the Women's Social and Political Union (WSPU) in a bid to get British women the right to vote.
National organiser Fleur Butler, said: "We need more women to take part in public life as councillors, school governors, MPs, Assembly Members, Mayors, Police & Crime Commissioners, MSPs and Magistrates.
"We want women not just to vote but to stand for public office as well.”
