The council wants to extend an injunction which prevents protestors entering safety zones around the trees.

More than a dozen campaigners have been written to by the council asking them to sign the injunction or face being taken to court for costs.

The court hearing looking at the terms of the injunction is about to begin.

Thousands of trees have been felled in Sheffield as part of the council's 25 year £2bn Streets Ahead project.

The council says only trees that are diseased, damaging or dangerous are being removed and they are then replaced with saplings.

But campaigners say many are felled because their roots are in the way of resurfacing methods.

She said they have received 10,000 bees and hope to have their own honey next year.

Fans on Devonshire Green where a flare was lit

Josh Chapman, 19, who is a student at Sheffield Hallam University, said he felt "really unsafe" watching the game at the fan zone on Devonshire Green.

The council expects it will need to create 43,000 new homes, crucially the plan will indicate if building will take place on green belt land.

The Local Plan was due to go before Sheffield's cabinet next week, but has been switched to a cabinet member decision session at the end of the month.

Labour has denied decisions are being made "behind closed doors" and promises a "massive" consultation.

Liberal Democrat Group Leader Shaffaq Mohammed said: "There are bound to be controversial issues, but the council needs to be upfront rather than trying to hide it just before the six weeks holiday."

Christopher Pennell, of Dore Village Society, said he was worried people would miss the plan as it was being "slipped out" during holiday season.
