A Yorkshire family say they're angry their son won't be able to get a prescription for medicinal cannabis, despite today's landmark law change.

    Harry from North Yorkshire

Harry, 10, from North Yorkshire, has a rare form of epilepsy which can cause seizures every hour.

After taking cannabis oil earlier this year, Harry hasn't had a seizure since June.

His family says a lack of guidance for prescriptions means he still can't access the life-changing drug.

The government says it wants patients to access the most appropriate course of medical treatment, with NHS England saying medicinal cannabis would be prescribed to people that have an "unmet need".

    Quote Message

Expert specialist hospital doctors will now be able to prescribe cannabis based medicines for a small number of patients who have an unmet need and where there is evidence of benefit. This does not detract from the wider physical and mental health risks and concerns potentially arising from regular recreational cannabis use.”
