It's claimed it could help warm some of the city's most important buildings with low-carbon heat, while also helping tackle the city's wider air pollution problems.

Original plans for a district heating network hit a major snag and missed a deadline for applying for government money.

Labour councillor Nussrat Mohammed says the scheme is ultimately about protecting the city's health.

She says air pollution in the city is making people ill and is a problem which "will become more apparent in the next five to 10 years".

The company said: "Adult nudity isn't allowed on Facebook, but we do make exceptions where posts are clearly intended for medical or educational purposes.

"In this case, the content was reported to us and incorrectly removed.

"We have apologised to Gemma and reinstated the content immediately."

Closing another mental health unit in North Yorkshire will damage care at other hospitals, according to Healthwatch North Yorkshire, a group representing patients.

The comments came during a meeting of North Yorkshire County Council's scrutiny of health committee which heard the Tees, Esk and Wear Valley NHS Trust had asked its board to close a Harrogate mental health unit.

It also wants long-held plans to build a £16m mental health hospital in the town to be scrapped, at the same time a mental health unit was closed in Northallerton.

The health watchdog says this will cause too much work at other facilities which won't be able to cope with extra patients.

Nigel Ayre, from Healthwatch North Yorkshire, said: "The alternative proposals, sending patients to York or Darlington, entails adding significant travel distance for individuals and families who are already struggling."

Meanwhile, councillor Jim Clark, said: "The country is crying out for mental health beds and yet in Harrogate they are going to be closing them, in Northallerton they are going to be closing them," he added.

The county council says it wants better treatment at home rather than in hospital.
