    Hull City fans have come up with a transfer list for their team based on 1960s and 1970s BBC children's TV classic Trumpton.

    It's all so they can field Pugh, Pugh, Charlie Mulgrew, Cuthbert, Dibble and Grubb.

    Yesterday, the club signed midfielder Marc Pugh on loan from Premier League side Bournemouth until the end of the season.

    Duncan Roy, Fraser Mowlem, Glyn Sadler and Will Quarmby reached Antigua early on Sunday after more than five weeks and more than 3,000 miles at sea.

    They're due to land at Gatwick Airport later.

    A petition calling on the government to electrify the Calder Valley rail route has been given full backing by the local authority.

    Calderdale Council says, external the line is one of the worst in West Yorkshire and improvements are crucial to increasing employment opportunities for residents and in bringing visitors.

    Rail users have suffered "months of misery", according to the council.

    Full electrification of the route would help cut congestion on the roads, improve air quality and be more reliable and cheaper to run, the council claims.

    Schoolchildren have been helping police officers tackle speeding outside their school in South Yorkshire after parents raised concerns about some drivers.

    The pupils from Kimberworth Community School on Kimberworth Road in Rotherham used speed guns to show speeding drivers they're being watched.

    South Yorkshire Police said the day was more about education rather than prosecuting drivers on the 30mph road.

    Children have also designed posters to deter drivers from speeding.

    The children told drivers how it affects their safety and confronted some people who parked in places which made crossing the road difficult.

    A flu outbreak which forced wards to be closed in York and Harrogate hospitals has now been brought under control, according to senior clinicians.

    One ward was closed at York Hospital to contain the spread of the virus, while two others were closed after an outbreak of the norovirus winter vomiting bug.

    The ward which was closed at Harrogate hospital, its first closure due to flu for nine years, has now re-opened.

    South Yorkshire Police have appealed on Slovakian TV for information about a missing Sheffield teenager.

    Pamela Horvathova, 16, from Darnall, was last seen on 19 December at an event with her college at iceSheffield.

    Following advice from the Roma community in Sheffield, an appeal by the South Yorkshire force has been shown on Slovakian national TV in a bid to find out where the missing teen has gone.

    Supt Paul McCurry, who's been leading the search, said officers were trying "everything" to find Pamela, with answers thought to "lay in the local community".

    He said Slovakian and Roma people who live in the UK might watch Slovakian news programmes.

    Supt Paul McCurry said police were also appealing for a Roma translator to work with police to help bridge a translation gap.

    "All our enquiries suggest she's still in Sheffield. We're worried. That's why there's a significant policing resource now looking for Pamela."

    North Yorkshire celebrity chef James Martin has paid tribute to fellow chef Andrew Fairlie, who's died aged 55 following a long illness.

    Mr Fairlie (pictured), whose Gleneagles restaurant is the only one in Scotland to have two Michelin stars, revealed last November that he had a terminal brain tumour.

    Mr Fairlie, who was first diagnosed in 2005, stepped down from his restaurant in November.

    He made the decision after doctors told him in June that no further treatment was available.

    James Martin, who's originally from Malton, said Mr Fairlie was one of the "very best" and taught him a lot over the years.

    Channel 4 has announced a new scheme to support more independent productions across Leeds and the wider region.

    The broadcaster is set to move its national headquarters to the city later this year.

    Last year, Leeds was announced as the preferred location for its new HQ, beating Birmingham and Greater Manchester.

    The news comes after Channel 4 bosses held a board meeting in Leeds yesterday.

    Police officers are stepping up their search for missing Sheffield teenager Pamela Horvathova as they ask the public if she has used their mobile phone.

    The 16-year-old hasn't been seen for almost five weeks after being reported missing on Christmas Eve.

    South Yorkshire Police say they hope to speak to anyone who may have let Pamela use their mobile phone as it's understood the teenager didn't own a mobile herself.

    Pamela was last seen at an event at iceSheffield on 19 December.

    Police divers have since searched the nearby canal for clues to her disappearance.

    The weapons, which include a police baton and a sharpened pool cue, were taken off the streets yesterday.

    People from Hull's trawler community say they've been left disappointed after a memorial was vandalised for the second time in two weeks.

    Grafitti was sprayed over the memorial board which lists some of the 6,000 trawlermen from Hull who lost their lives at sea.

    It's the fourth time the site has been attacked.
