    Police have concerns for his welfare after he went missing from Liversedge on 31 January:

    The 16-year-old was last seen on Heathlands Road.

    He is described as being 5ft 9ins tall and of thin build.

    Anyone with information about his whereabouts is being asked to contact police.

    A new photograph of a missing University of Hull student has been released by police who say they have received "hundreds of calls" following her disappearance.

    Libby Squire, 21, disappeared after getting a taxi home from a nightclub on Thursday evening.

    Police are currently making house to house enquiries in the area where she was last seen.

    Humberside Police say it's "working tirelessly to find Libby and will give any updates on any significant developments".

    Swinton forward Will Hope says he waited for three hours for an ambulance while in "agony" with serious leg injuries sustained in Sunday's Championship match against Sheffield.

    The 25-year-old suffered a broken leg, dislocated ankle and torn ligaments.

    When an ambulance did not arrive, he said he was carried by team-mates onto the team coach which took him to hospital.

    Yorkshire Ambulance Service has apologised for the distress caused by a "delayed response", adding the call was received "during an extremely busy period".

    "That is an absolute disgrace," he said.

    "To be treated like that, with my foot facing the wrong way for up to five hours because I 'wasn't a priority' is disgusting and I wouldn't wish that pain on my worst enemy."

    Mr Hope says he was left in a changing room corridor for three hours waiting for the ambulance and that the St John's Ambulance team were unable to provide assistance.

    The Rugby Football League has been contacted for comment.

    Four Yorkshire radio stations have been bought by Bauer Media.

    Dearne FM, Ridings FM, Rother FM and Trax FM have all been purchased as part of a 1.1 million listener haul by the national group.

    The purchase of the Lincs FM Group, which is the parent company of the four stations, has also seen southern company Celador be picked up.

    However, East Yorkshire's KCFM, which was owned by Lincs FM Group, has been sold to Nation Radio.

    A 59-year-old man has been arrested after threats were allegedly made against MP Yvette Cooper.

    The man was arrested in Castleford, part of Ms Cooper's constituency, on Friday.

    He has been released on bail while police investigate.

    Labour's Yvette Cooper has represented the area at Westminster since 1997.

    A man is in hospital in a critical condition after being attacked in Rotherham.

    Police officers were called to the Midland Road roundabout at about 18:25 yesterday to reports of an injured man in the road.

    It was first thought the man was injured in a crash, but assessment of his injuries suggests he was seriously assaulted, police say.

    The man in his 30s remains in hospital in a critical condition.

    Midland Road is closed while investigations take place.

    Rugby league players from Hull have visited a statue of an angel made out of 100,000 knives confiscated by police.

    Members of Hull FC's first team squad attended the official launch of the sculpture, which is in the city's Queens Gardens as part of a campaign against knife crime.

    The rugby league side is supporting Humberside Police's bid to "to rid our streets of as many weapons as we can".

    Police figures show there was an average of one serious assault a day in York last year as violent crime in the city increased.

    250 assaults occasioning actual bodily harm were recorded in 2017, but in 2018 that rose to 365.

    A report written for council licensing bosses said nearly half of violent incidents were alcohol-fuelled with the majority taking place on weekends.

    Councillor Janet Looker said: "These figures will do nothing to allay the fears of those who claim the city centre is not somewhere to visit on Saturdays or weekend evenings, especially with children."

    During a council meeting there were calls for a "city centre summit" to take action on crime and anti-social behaviour in York.

    A man is due in court later after a seven-year-old boy suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash in Sheffield.

    Robert Ouath, 50, of Dickinson Road in Shiregreen, is charged with driving over the prescribed limit through drugs and driving without due care and attention.

    The boy, who was on a bike, was injured on Wensley Street last June after being hit by a car.

    Mr Ouath is expected to appear at Sheffield Magistrates' Court later.

    Wildlife campaigners in North Yorkshire are putting up cameras to try and stop illegal badger baiting.

    One campaigner from a North Yorkshire badger group, who only wants to be identified as Ann, said setts in the area have been reinforced and fitted with cameras.

    She urged members of the public to be on look-out for groups of men "with terriers, lurchers and spades" and to always report anything that looks suspicious.

    Just two weeks ago, five men were jailed after they were caught badger baiting in East Yorkshire.

    The RSPCA says the cameras work as a deterrent but it's hard to police, with many instances going unreported.

    Hull City owner Assem Allam says he turned down a bid to sell the Championship club because the prospective new owners had no extra funds to invest in the club.

    City were close to being sold last autumn, but Allam felt the move would not be in the club's best interests.

    He also says a rival bid by former chairman Paul Duffen could not raise funds needed to buy the Tigers.

    The businessman also claims a Chinese bid to buy City in 2018 ended after fan protests.

    He said: "We had one of the potential interests agree a price to pay, and I said 'how much are you going to put into the club and he said 'that's it'.

    "I said 'sorry, no'. I need the future of the club here because I'm a local man, I don't want, after all that I've done, to see the club not able to survive.

    "I could have sold it and got my money, but I refused, and I will refuse that."

    A man from York is setting off every morning for a year on a walk tracing the route the legendary Dick Turpin took around the city with his dog.

    Graham Kavanagh is raising money for cancer charities by following the route the notorious highwayman was rumoured to walk with his dog Little Nell.

    Mr Kavanagh says the route took in the famous criminal's favourite pubs in York which he admits "would have been quite different in those days".

    Two dog walkers are being sought by police after a seven-year-old child was attacked by a dog, leaving him with serious injuries requiring surgery.

    The man and woman, who have been described as being in their 50s, were walking four dogs at Underbank Reservoir near Stocksbridge at about 12:15 on Sunday.

    One of the dogs was off its lead, South Yorkshire Police says.

    The dog owners stopped to help, but the grandmother of the victim couldn't write down the contact details which were left.

    The dog is described as being a large build mastiff cross breed.

    Police are appealing for the couple to come forward.

    Construction levels in Leeds neared a record high last year, according to a "crane survey" released today.

    New figures show there are 43 building projects under way in the city, with 21 new developments started in the last 12 months.

    Accountancy firm Deloitte say construction is now at its highest rate since 2007, before the financial crisis.
