The "knife angel," which includes knives collected by Humberside Police, has been installed in the city's Queens Gardens.
The statue was created as tribute to victims of knife crime, using 100,000 knives seized by police across the country.

Schoolchildren in Doncaster and North Yorkshire will be part of a government trial to help manage their mental health in school.
Hundreds of primary and secondary school children will learn methods to regulate their emotions - including mindfulness exercises, relaxation techniques and breathing exercises.
Doncaster and North Yorkshire were picked among nine areas across the country to take part in a two-year government trial.
There will also be sessions with mental health experts.
It's hoped schools will learn what works best when dealing with mental health issues with children.

It follows allegations made by a woman about abuse she suffered as a child between 2002 and 2005.

Addresses in Calderdale, Bradford and Kirklees were searched.
All men have been released under investigation.
The operation is looking into current and non-recent child abuse.
Det Insp Laura Nield said: “These crimes affect the most vulnerable in our society and are truly heinous crimes.
“All our investigations are victim-led and the long-term wellbeing of those victims is of paramount importance."

A 32-year-old man has been arrested after a crash in Bradford in which one man died and another was left in hospital with serious injuries.
Police have a arrested a man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after the collision in the Undercliffe area yesterday afternoon.
Officers were called at about 12:55 to a report of a collision on Harrogate Road.
A black VW Golf was travelling towards Undercliffe, when it's believed to have collided with a white Hyundai. The Golf was then in collision with a black Nissan Juke.
A passenger in the Golf, a 19-year-old man, died as a result of his injuries from the collision.
A second occupant in the car, a 21-year-old man, sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital.
The arrested man was the third occupant of the car, according to police.
An East Yorkshire school appeared on Google Maps as "Hornsea Prison" and "Hell on Earth", in what is thought to be a student prank.
It is believed a pupil at Hornsea School and Language College tricked the search engine into displaying the fake name.
This morning the school issued a statement saying the unauthorised listing has been removed from Google.
