  1. It's your city, your voice, and your storypublished at 17:44 Greenwich Mean Time 11 February 2019

Do you live or work in Bradford and have a story to tell?

BBC News is coming to the city for a week of news stories about Bradford across its national and regional outlets, podcasts, online platforms and on social media:

It's all part of We Are Bradford week which runs between 11-15 March.

The BBC's media and arts correspondent David Sillito says: "We Are Bradford is an experiment, an attempt to try to work in a different way to give a fuller and, perhaps fairer, picture of a city.

"We want to hear from people to help us tell different stories in different ways.

"News should be more than just a catalogue of our troubles, it should reflect the whole of life. There is a place for surprise, delight and hope."

Sabbiyah Pervez, BBC Look North reporter, says: "Being from Bradford myself, I think it’s so important the BBC covers stories from the city.

"I sit on the BBC News Under-30s panel and through that I met a group of young people from Bradford last year.

"They told me that they wanted to see ‘more stories told by people like us’ - and that’s what we aim to deliver with We Are Bradford."

    Local Democracy Reporting Service

The number of people who registered to vote in Leeds has dropped by 27,000 in less than three years.

    BALLOT BOX

A Leeds City Council meeting heard how the numbers fell from 560,303 in December 2017 to 552,977 in December 2018.

One of the reasons given for the fall by council officers was the difficulty in "block-registering" students living in the city due to new European privacy rules.

A drop-off in those who would otherwise "never ever vote" but who registered especially for the EU referendum was also highlighted.

On EU registration, a council officer told the meeting that registration "touched 580,000" in June 2016.

Councillor James Lewis said: "It is a legal requirement to respond to the invitations, but it would cost the council more to chase them up than the value of getting them on the register would be.

"There is nothing done currently, either locally or nationally, to see if people are voting both at their home address and university address."
