    A man who went missing from Hull yesterday, could have travelled to South Yorkshire, police say.

    Police are concerned about the welfare of Scott Braithwaite and say he may have travelled to the Barnsley area.

    Humberside Police are appealing for help finding him and want to hear from anyone who knows where he is.

    Hull City striker Jarrod Bowen equaled the club record of scoring in seven successive home games after he was awarded a goal in the recent 2-1 victory over Millwall.

    The dubious goal committee ruled the 22-year-old had opened the scoring in the home win last month and he could now break the record when Queens Park Rangers visit the KCOM Stadium later this month:

  5. Male 'spoken to' after Bradford attackpublished at 16:34 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March 2019

    Police investigating a violent attack on a 15-year-old boy in West Yorkshire have spoken to a person of interest connected with the attack.

    A video of the attack apparently shot on a phone was shared widely online.

    The teenager was kicked several times, as a group watched on, during the attack in City Park, Bradford, on Sunday 24 February.

    An image was released earlier this week by police officers trying to identify someone in the video.

    Three 16-year-old boys who were arrested in connection with the attack have been released on bail, said West Yorkshire Police.

    A pair of men have been arrested after a BMW convertible was stolen from a North Yorkshire village.

    Police arrested two men, 24 and 24, after the car was taken from the driveway of a house in Starbotton.

    North Yorkshire Police say jewellery and other items were also taken during the incident, between 13:00 and 16:00 on 2 March.

    The two men, both from Bradford, have been released under investigation while enquiries continue with police appealing for information.

    A man has been in court charged with multiple sex offences against children in Barnsley.

    Jordan Parnham, 23, formerly of Kirkby Close in Pontefract appeared before Barnsley Magistrates' Court yesterday to face charges including three counts of rape.

    He is also charged with one count of causing a child to watch/look at images of sexual activity and one count of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

    He's been remanded in custody and will appear before Sheffield Crown Court on Thursday 4 April.

    More women from East Yorkshire could be employed in the green energy sector, as the government tries to double the number of women working in the offshore wind industry.

    Ministers have set targets with energy companies to make sure 33% of the workforce is female by 2030 with the figure currently standing at just 16%.

    Councillor Daren Hale, deputy leader of Hull City Council, said: “We welcome the focus on increasing the number of highly skilled workers in the sector and also the aim to attract more women into the workforce."

    A man was chased by members of the public and caught after punching a police officer in an "unprovoked attack", police say.

    The officer is thought to have suffered a broken nose in the attack, according to York city centre's neighbourhood policing inspector.

    The man was detained, according to North Yorkshire Police.

    Police seized more than 250 wraps of heroin and crack cocaine, with an estimated street value of £2,500, in Bridlington today.

    Officers found £450 in cash as well as drugs, described as "divided into bags thought to be ready for distribution" when they raided an address on Fort Terrace this morning.

    Humberside Police say a man and woman are in custody after being arrested on suspicion of possessing a class A drug with intent to supply.

    South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service has been showing children that "anyone can be anything" when it comes to picking a career.

    It's to mark International Women's Day.

    Two e-fit images have been released after two people were violently attacked in Bradford.

    The attempted robberies happened on 1 February between 17:30 and 18:50, police said.

    In the first, a woman in her 50s was dragged to the ground on Manchester Road and hit before a man tried to take her handbag.

    The second attempted robbery saw a man hit with a brick as the offenders tryed to take his bag and wallet.

    Politicians and business leaders are attending a conference in Leeds to discuss how to bring more powers to Yorkshire.

    It comes after the CBI business group confirmed its support for a Yorkshire-wide Mayor, an idea the Prime Minister has refused to back.

    Theresa May said the scheme didn't fit with the government's criteria and a devolution deal for South Yorkshire must come first.

    Northern Powerhouse minister, Jake Berry, says there's nothing stopping separate areas of Yorkshire working together after getting more powers.

    Organisers of the One Yorkshire Conference say it aims to "explore Yorkshire’s place in a post-Brexit economy and how devolution to the region ensures it plays its full part in driving future prosperity for the North and the UK."

    The boss of Hull Trains has urged customers to put their faith back in the company following several problems with its existing fleet of trains last year.

    An exhibition about the women who worked in secret underground bunkers during the cold war is going on display at RAF Holmpton today to mark International Women's Day.

    It was created by Hull-born photographer Lee Karen Stow and many of the women featured in the exhibition are due to be at today's opening event.

    For more than 20 years, the green plains of Holderness were the secret location of underground bunker RAF Holmpton, where radar operators watched the skies for any incoming threat.

    After a spate of fatal stabbings and calls for the government to treat knife crime with the same urgency as terrorism, police in North Yorkshire say they are holding a week of action to tackle the issue.

    The number of fatal stabbings in England and Wales last year was the highest since records began.

    Det Supt Steve Thomas, said: “Reports of tragic and life changing incidents involving knives and weapons remind us how all too easily a life can be taken away by someone’s reckless choice to carry a knife.

    “Levels of knife crime in North Yorkshire are low, but we are not complacent, which is why we're supporting a national campaign to keep our county this way.”

    Sgt Neil Northend, who oversees Youth Engagement for North Yorkshire Police, said:

    “The North Yorkshire Police Youth Team will be raising awareness through schools with young people about the dangers of carrying knives and providing safety advice."

    Throughout the week of action, officers will also undertake test purchasing in local shops to test their compliance with knife sale regulations to under 18s.

    As part of the campaign people who have information about someone carrying a knife or about where knives are being sold illegally, are being asked to contact the North Yorkshire force.
