    Three men were injured in a crash which saw their car fail to stop for police in Barnsley.

    It happened on Knollbeck Lane in Brampton at about 21:00 on Monday night.

    The Audi A3 car was uninsured, police say.

    The men suffered minor injuries in the crash, which didn't involve any other cars.

    Police officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

    Police have been called to an incident at a secondary school in York.

    Officers are currently at Joseph Rowntree School in New Earswick, the force has confirmed.

    According to the school's website the school is an 11-18 mixed comprehensive school of over 1,200 students, with approximately 250 in the sixth form.

  5. Fallen tree blocks Snake Passpublished at 08:35 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2019

    This was the scene earlier this morning on the A57 Snake Pass, which links Manchester and Sheffield.

    The road was blocked by a fallen tree between the A6013 at Ladybower Reservoir and Hurst Road.

    It has since reopened to cars and vans, but not for high-sided vehicles because of the wind.

  6. Drivers face new parking fines in East Yorkshirepublished at 08:16 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March 2019

    Traffic wardens in East Yorkshire have been told to issue fines to motorists who park across dropped kerbs.

    East Riding of Yorkshire Council says vehicles parked this way can obstruct wheelchairs, prams and mobility scooters.

    For the past month, wardens have been fixing warning notices to car windscreens, but a new £70 penalty comes into operation this week.

    If you're making a journey on the rails in Yorkshire this morning, it's worth checking your route.

    Some services between the north of England and London are disrupted due to overhead electric wire damage between Durham and Newcastle.

    National Rail Enquiries says some lines have now reopened, but there are delays of up to 60 minutes on some routes and alterations and cancellations are expected on some journeys.

    Two flood warnings have been issued for York - meaning flooding is expected and immediate action is required.

    They're in place on the River Ouse at Naburn Lock and riverside properties and on the River Ure at Roecliffe Caravan Park.

    Foss Barrier

    The Foss Barrier (pictured), a floodgate which straddles the River Foss in York, at the confluence of the Rivers Ouse and Foss, has also been lowered.

    There are also flood warnings because of high seas on Foreshore Road and Sandside in Scarborough.
