    Two masked robbers stabbed their victim after attempting to steal from him on a footpath in Huddersfield.

    A man in his twenties was approached by the suspects on the Springfield footpath at about 02:15 on 16 February.

    They chased the victim and demanded that he empty his pockets.

    One suspect, described as being 6ft tall and of skinny build, punched the man in the face, while the other suspect stabbed him in his lower back.

    Both men were wearing dark outfits and hoodies, with bandanas covering their mouths, according to police.

    They are both described as being white and aged about 20 years old.

    A vicar at Beverley Minster has described a swastika which was spray painted outside the church as a "very definite symbol of hate".

    The swastika symbol was sprayed on a replica painting by the artist Fred Elwell, which hangs on railings opposite the Minster's main entrance.

    Associate vicar Wendy Whale said since the graffiti had appeared "we've been standing alongside and praying for people who have lost loved ones in Christchurch".

    She said: "If we don't react to the small things and try and stop those, we are opening ourselves up for bigger responses."

    Similar graffiti has also appeared this week at Beverley railway station and on Toll Gavel, with police investigating.

    A luxury hotel in North Yorkshire says all of its staff are to undergo racial bias training after one worker painted his face black for a work party.

    Rudding Park, near Harrogate, says it was an "ill-judged and immature decision by a 20-year-old man who was asked to remove the make-up by a senior member of staff".

    The hotel, which employs people from 24 different countries, says: "We sincerely apologise for any offence caused.

    A statement from the hotels says: "The man, now undergoing disciplinary procedures, realises the consequences of his behaviour and regrets the hurt it has caused.

    "Rudding Park in no way condones racism and it is not at all acceptable to the company.

    "We have already scheduled a complete racial bias training programme for all our staff to attend to ensure something like this does not happen again."

    The "alternative heritage" sign has appeared on a wall in Church Street in Sutton-on-Hull, commemorating his expletive-laden rant which went viral after it was uploaded to YouTube.

    Creative studio Drunk Animal is behind the plaques which have been popping up around the city over the last few months.

    The owner of one of Leeds' most endangered historical buildings says it doesn't have proper foundations and the roof is so badly damaged it moves.

    Developer CEG bought the Grade I-listed Temple Works on Marshall Street, Holbeck, last year.

    According to Leeds City Council, the building is in the top 2.5% of listed buildings and is of national importance.

    Construction began in 1836 with a facade based on the Temple of Horus at Edfu, Egypt, and the site is in a conservation area.

    Today CEG is revealing what it has learned about the condition of the former flax mill.

    David Hodgson, from the developer, says the previous owners had filled the roof space with waste materials, bricks and concrete, which has "significantly increased the weight."

    Mr Hodgson says: "We've been flying drones in, out and around the building, in order to build a full picture, which is far in advance of anything anyone's done on the building since its construction."

    A man has been arrested on suspicion of harassment in connection with the alleged trolling of a Rotherham child sexual abuse survivor.

    It comes after a woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, told the BBC she had been targeted online.

    She said abuse had been directed at her and her family on social media.

    South Yorkshire Police said a 34-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of harassment and fraud offences and released on bail.

    Speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield the woman said the alleged abuse began in December and had left her feeling "revictimised."

    "I'm constantly on edge, I feel like I've got to be constantly watching my own back and I should not have to do that," she said.

    In 2014 after a report found at least 1,400 children in Rotherham were the victims of abuse between 1997 and 2013.

    This would see businesses and individuals taking action to remove as much carbon dioxide from the atmosphere as is put into it.

    Labour’s manifesto in the city makes a commitment to York becoming carbon neutral by 2030.

    Councillor D’Agorne says the Green Party supports this target.

    The National Crime Agency is trying to find a convicted drug smuggler who has absconded from prison in Doncaster.

    Daniel Dobbs, known as Dobbo, was sentenced to 13-and-a-half years in prison in January 2014 after he was convicted of trafficking heroin and amphetamines.

    Dobbs, 30, has been missing since 2 November from category D open prison at HMP Hatfield Lakes.

    He has a scar on his right hand, a Dobbo tattoo in the centre of his back, and another tribal tattoo on his right shoulder.

    He has links to Malton, North Yorkshire, Doncaster and Hornsea, East Yorkshire.

    It has been revealed that Sheffield's Old Town Hall has been bought by local company Aestrom OTH.

    The Grade II-listed building has stood empty since 1996 and has fallen into disrepair.

    It went on the market for £2m back in 2015.

    The new owners say their aim is to preserve the building and put it "back into active use".

    "This is a special building and getting its transformation right takes careful thought and time”, Aestrom OTH said.

    Mazher Iqbal, cabinet member for business and investment at Sheffield City Council, said he's delighted a buyer has been found.

    "This building has a special place in our hearts as the first home for the council and latterly as the city’s main court house and we are encouraged that there is fresh interest in the building," he said.

    A Tesco superstore in Sheffield has reopened following an attack with a screwdriver in which two people were injured.

    The assault happened inside the store on Savile Street, Sheffield, at about 13:30 yesterday.

    Tesco staff members have been praised for their bravery after detaining a man until police arrived.

    A woman, 58, and a 45-year-old man were treated at hospital for minor facial injuries, South Yorkshire Police said.

    A man, 23, has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is in custody.
