There are fears that plans to improve Bradford's cycling infrastructure have slowed down.
Calls for a refresh come after officials met last night to discuss progress on the city's 10-year cycling strategy - and just weeks before the opening of a major new cycle route into Shipley.
David Robison, director of the Capital of Cycling charity, says decision-makers need to engage better with the cycling community to keep the wheels turning on improvements.
"I'm fully aware that local authorities are really struggling under major budget cuts, so we're not expecting them to be able to pull out millions of pounds to invest in state-of-the-art cycling infrastructure", he said.
"So what we need is that engagement and that, sadly, is what's been lacking in Bradford a little bit lately."

North Yorkshire Police won't receive reinforcements from outside the district to deal with an international cycling championship which is set to attract hundreds of thousands of spectators.
About 250,000 fans are expected to descend upon North Yorkshire to watch the UCI Road World Championships in September and the local force force will not be receiving additional support from neighbouring districts, it's been confirmed.
At a meeting, Harrogate councillors heard how there's expected to be a slight rise in crime due to the "huge volume of people" coming to watch the event which takes place between 21 and 29 September.
After the meeting, Mike Chambers, cabinet member for housing and safer communities, said local police had experience of similar events such as the Tour de France (pictured) and Tour de Yorkshire coming through the town.
Mr Chambers said: "I don't have any major concerns that North Yorkshire Police can do the job required of them and they've shown in the past that they can do it."

Plans for new affordable homes on playing fields around the David Lloyd gym in York look set to get the go-ahead despite objections from local residents.
The scheme would see 69 houses built on land off Windmill Lane which was formerly owned by York St John University.
Council planning bosses have been asked to approve the proposals for Yorkshire Housing to construct affordable family homes on the land at a meeting tomorrow.
But a report prepared for members of the council's planning committee says residents have raised concerns about 100% of the housing being affordable, as well as worries about parking in the area.
The scheme was granted outline planning permission in June 2017, despite neighbours presenting a petition against the loss of the fields with more than 1,300 signatures.
