Jeremy Tutton told a High Court judge analysing a control battle between the club's co-owners on Friday that the suggestion was "rubbish".

The club's co-owners, Mr McCabe, 71, and Prince Abdullah bin Mosaad Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, a member of the Saudi royal family, have fallen out after starting to work together six years ago.

Prince Abdullah has said the person behind a £3m sum was Saleh Mohammed bin Laden.

He said Mr McCabe and his associates knew that, and claims the name was mentioned at a meeting in Dubai in 2017.

The call, by North Yorkshire's Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Julia Mulligan, follows the death of 15-year-old Leah Heyes in Northallerton at the weekend after she was believed to have taken ecstasy.

Meanwhile, police in Scarborough yesterday launched a new operation to try and stop what's called "county lines" drug dealing in the area, where criminals get children and young people to deal drugs for them.

Later in the day a woman was arrested in Ripon after suspected Class A drugs and drug paraphernalia were sized.

Police and other organisations in Harrogate and Skipton have also been working together to try to tackle the growing problem.

Ms Julia Mulligan said: "If you see something that is suspicious, which you think is related to drugs, let the police know.

"I so often get people telling me, 'We've seen this, we've seen that' and I say have you told the police and they say, 'No we haven't'.

The bones of the long-finned pilot whale have been in storage at the museum, but once put back together they're due to go on permanent display in the autumn.

The marine mammal was killed in 1867 off the coast of Scotland by fishermen.

Clare Brown, from Leeds Museums, said she hoped the display would show how attitudes towards whales had changed but work still needs to be done to protect other vulnerable species.

The bones will be pieced together over the next few months.

Our hope is that by displaying this inspirational animal in Leeds and telling its story, we can encourage thousands of visitors to think about the environment in a different way."

  12. County drugs battle a 'major concern' - Commissionerpublished at 12:51 British Summer Time 17 May 2019

    Local Democracy Reporting Service

The battle against drugs in a county which boasts the lowest crime rate in England and Wales has been laid bare, just days after the death of a schoolgirl who police believe had taken ecstasy.

    Drugs

North Yorkshire's Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Julia Mulligan said there had been an alarming rise in drug-related concerns ahead of the death of 15-year-old Leah Heyes in Northallerton at the weekend.

A meeting of the North Yorkshire Police, Fire and Crime Panel heard that girls as young as 13 were being drawn into drugs and over the past few years there had been a significant rise in dealing “in places you wouldn’t think”, such as in villages.

Mrs Mulligan made her concerns known to the panel after Northallerton councillor Peter Wilkinson asked her if she believed North Yorkshire Police were being successful in tackling drug dealing in the county and whether drug dealing was a major issue.

Mrs Mulligan said: “I am, and the chief constable is extremely concerned about drugs in the county at the moment.

“We have seen a whole range of nasty tactics being used around things called cuckooing, exploiting young people to be mules for drugs.

"We’ve seen violence on the streets because we’ve got external gangs coming in fighting with local drug dealers. It's an area of major concern.”

Will Naylor, the deputy commissioner, added: “We think the scale is probably bigger than is understood currently by the police.”

Hull City Council announced it is committing an extra £2m in the coming year after a report detailing the findings of the inspection was published today.

Of the three areas Ofsted looked at, the experiences and progress of children who need help and protection was found to be inadequate.

While the impact of leaders on social work practice and the experiences and progress of children in care and care leavers require improvement to be good.

Hull City Council say the report - which follows an inspection in January - is clear that the response is timely and appropriate when children are at immediate risk of significant harm.

Council leader Stephen Brady said: “I am very disappointed at the findings of this inspection. The needs of the city’s children are paramount and are at the centre of everything we do and strive for as a council.

“We understand that significant improvements need to be made and are giving this our absolute focus."

Others in Grassington, Hawes and Boroughbridge are set to close too.

Local councillor Ed Darling, who represents Knaresborough town centre, says: "This will leave our community and our town centre worse off.

"Over the last couple of years we have already seen the closures of three banks in our town centre - and now to have a fourth leave will impact on services for residents and visitors."

The bank says with customers using its branches less it had to make the "difficult decision" to close a branch.

Doncaster-born footballer Danny Rose has said a football club called him "crazy", as he opens up about his personal experiences of mental health and depression.

    Danny RoseImage source, PA

It's part of a new BBC One documentary for Mental Health Awareness Week that will be broadcast this weekend.

In it, Tottenham and England defender Rose reveals he had been labelled as "crazy" by a potential new club because of his depression.

Rose was part of the England squad that reached the World Cup semi-finals last summer, before helping guide Spurs to the Champions League final earlier this month.

However, the left-back believes football still has "a long way to go" with how it treats mental health.

Rose reveals he had depression on the eve of last year's World Cup, which he says was triggered by a combination of injury and family tragedy.

He claims his revelation was brought up during discussions later that summer.

"I was speaking to another club in the summer and they said, 'The club would like to meet you, just to check that you're not crazy,' because of what I'd said and what I'd been through," he said.
