    Sheffield residents have been describing what happened to them when they were asked to leave their properties following a suspicious item being found at a house.

    A police cordon originally put in place at 100m from the incident on Uttley Close in Darnall has been removed.

    Following investigations from the Army's bomb squad, just one property is now cordoned off.

    "It was really scary because I have a baby and a toddler", said one mother who was told by police she couldn't get back into her home.

    "It's normally a really safe area. I've lived here for 21 years and I've never ever seen anything happen here."

    Another woman who lives nearby says she saw police on Uttley Close as she left for work.

    "I came back from work and they wouldn't let me back home. It's not something you expect to happen on your doorstep", she told the BBC.

    "But there's not much you can do in this situation and listen to what the police tell you to do."

    About 40 homes in a 100m cordon were evacuated as a precaution.

    Two women have been arrested in connection with the incident, police say.

    Lady Boothroyd was in charge of the Commons for eight years from 1992, serving as an MP for a total 27 years.

    She was born in 1929, the daughter of a textile workers. In the mid-50s, after a career as a dancer with the Tiller Girls Troupe, she turned to politics.

    She was a popular choice as Speaker, admired for her firmness, good-humour, fairness and ability to deal with a rowdy and mostly male House of Commons.

    Her straightforward, no-nonsense approach made her something of a celebrity.

    Nathaniel Suggitt, known locally as Terry, was found by police officers on Saturday after being called to an address on Love Lane Terrace in Pontefract.

    A post-mortem examination revealed earlier this week that Mr Suggit died as a result of stab wounds.

    A 49-year-old man who was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of murder remains in custody, according to police.

    Police have released CCTV stills of Mr Suggitt taken at the Asda supermarket in Pontefract earlier on Saturday:

    Police say they want to hear from anyone with information about his movements between 09:30 and 18:30.

    Det Ch Insp Heather Whoriskey said: “It's important we gain as much information as we can to help us build a picture of his movements and the people he associated with on the day he died.

    "We know he went to his local Asda on Saturday morning and it is likely he would have been spotted out and about in the area by persons who knew him."
