    Heavy rain over the weekend has left part of the tracks between Gilberdyke and Doncaster underwater, meaning trains are unable to run.

    TransPennine Express is advising passengers not to travel between Sheffield and Cleethorpes while Northern say rail replacement buses are running between Doncaster and Scunthorpe/Goole, external.

    A new specialist police task force has been set up to target so-called "county lines" drug dealers and criminals in East Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire.

    Operation Galaxy will bring together specialists from roads policing, the firearms unit, cyber crime, community policing and the proactive teams.

    County lines dealers use mobile phone lines and the travel network to send drugs from big cities into smaller towns.

    Raids have so far taken place in Hull, Grimsby, Beverley and Bridlington, with thousands of pounds worth of drugs, weapons and cash recovered.

    A huge annual firework display held to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity in York has been cancelled.

    The event, which attracts thousand of spectators every year, was due to be staged this Saturday at Rawcliffe Country Park.

    North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue says heavy rain has left the site too waterlogged to cope with the number of spectators expected and it has been unable to find an alternative venue.

    Station manager Tony Walker wrote on social media: "It is with great sadness we announce the event is cancelled.

    "It's been a hard decision but the weather has made the field unsuitable."

    Four people have been jailed for their role in the death of man who was attacked in a "targeted and violent" street assault.

    John Methley, 39, was found unconscious with head injuries on Midland Road in Rotherham on 4 February.

    He was taken to hospital but died six days later.

    Nafees Hussain (above left), 20, was found guilty of murder and Kyle Greenwood (above right), 20, was found guilty of manslaughter following a trial at Sheffield Crown Court.

    Hussain, of no fixed abode, was jailed for life with a minimum term of 19 years and Greenwood, of Spa View Road in Sheffield, was sentenced to 11 years.

    Adam Khan (above left), 21, of Norwood Road in Sheffield, was also jailed for three years for assisting an offender.

    Hana Riaz (above right), 21, also of Spa View Road, Sheffield, pleaded guilty to assisting an offender before the trial and was sentenced to 22 months.

    A teaching team from Wyke Sixth Form College in Hull scooped the Further Education team of the year award.

    Meanwhile, a Bradford school which was put into special measures by Ofsted in 2014 and was said to be failing to protect students from extremism has received an award.

    Carlton Bolling picked up the Secondary School of the Year award.

    The glittering ceremony was featured on BBC Two's Britain's Classroom Heroes at the weekend.

    The circumstances surrounding the death of a man whose body was pulled from a river in York at the weekend are still being investigated, police say.

    Emergency services recovered the man's body from the River Ouse, close to Lendal Bridge, after police received a call at about 09:30 on Saturday morning.

    The man, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Police say the man's death is not thought to be suspicious.

    A man's been charged with attempted murder after a man was stabbed in Leeds, police say.

    Emergency services were called to Bexley Grove, Harehills, at about 08:15 on Thursday to reports of someone being found with stab wounds.

    The victim, a 37-year-old man, is now in a "stable condition" in hospital, according to West Yorkshire Police.

    Daniel Cunningham, 41, of Bexley Grove, Harehills, has since been charged with attempted murder, police say.

    A second man, Stephen Catterill, 52, of Bexley Grove, Harehills, has been charged with perverting the course of justice.

    Both men have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Leeds Magistrates' Court later.

    A 48-year-old man who was arrested in connection with the incident was released without charge, police have confirmed.

    A woman has been left seriously injured after being hit by a van in Sheffield.

    She was attempting to cross Abbeydale Road at about 23:00 on Saturday when she was hit by a Ford Transit Torneo.

    She was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where she remains.

    Any witnesses to the crash are being asked to get in touch with police.

    Police investigating a petrol bomb attack outside a West Yorkshire councillor's home while his family slept have appealed for witnesses.

    Arsonists set fire to a car parked on Masood Ahmed's driveway as well as another vehicle on the street.

    A total of 10 members of Mr Ahmed's family, including two grandchildren, aged eight and four, were in the house on Pentland Road in Dewsbury at the time.

    Police said a Peugeot 207 was believed to have been used by the suspects.

    The attack happened in the early hours of last Wednesday and was caught on CCTV.

    The suspects could be seen running from the scene and police have appealed for anyone with information on them or the car to get in touch.

    Train services between Doncaster and Hull are affected after heavy rainfall hit parts of the region over the weekend.

    Train operator Northern said services to Hull would terminate at Doncaster and restart at Goole, with disruption expected to last all day.

    A bus service is in operation between Doncaster and Goole.

    The Environment Agency said seven flood warnings, external were currently in place along the River Don.

    A further warning, meaning flooding is expected and action is required, remains in place for the River Trent at Beckingham Marsh.

    On Sunday, the Environment Agency said levels on the River Don reached 15.5ft (4.73m) with usual levels up to 11.8ft (3.6m).

    South Yorkshire Police said roads were also closed in some parts of Doncaster.

    Flood warnings are currently in place across North Yorkshire following heavy rain over the weekend.

    The Environment Agency says nine warnings are in place on the rivers Ouse, Derwent and Don, external.

    The Foss Barrier, which helps to stop flooding of riverside properties in York, was brought into operation on Saturday.

    Flood warnings mean flooding is expected and "immediate action" is necessary by local residents and businesses.
