Hundreds of people have joined searches for great grandfather Colin Vasey and more than 10,000 have signed up to a Facebook group to share information.
Mr Vasey left his home in Dewsbury on Sunday 17 November and was last seen on CCTV by the town's minster.
He's thought to be wearing a blue fleece, grey pyjama bottoms and a dark coloured beanie hat and is described as white, about 5ft 7ins tall and of slim build.
The West Yorkshire force says despite extensive inquiries using specialist search officers, police dogs, the police helicopter, diving unit and a drone, the 81-year-old remains missing.
Det Ch Insp Fiona Gaffney says: "With every passing hour Colin is not found we are becoming more and more worried.
“I am appealing today to everyone to help spread the message.
"Just by retweeting a message or sharing a facebook post, or even just through word of mouth, you could help unearth a vital clue as to Colin’s whereabouts.”
Anyone who sees Mr Vasey is asked to contact police.
Military veterans are campaigning against a proposal to close a holiday home in a Yorkshire seaside resort.
Alderson House in Bridlington is a Royal British Legion respite centre where ex-military personnel and their families can take holiday breaks.
It is one of four of the charity's seaside locations, but could soon be shut down.
The British Legion said it was looking at whether the homes were the best way of supporting veterans.
Alderson House offers breaks to serving or ex-serving military personnel who need respite.
Protesting outside the centre on Friday, Royal Navy veteran Martin Barmby said: "This is a meeting place for all the veterans in Bridlington.
"To remove that absolute gem of a place for people to go to feel part of the veterans' community again is just unbelievable."
Nicola Cook, from the charity, said: "The changes we're proposing really will make sure we are looking after the most vulnerable now and into the future."

Read MoreUnion leaders have welcomed a decision not to go ahead with plans to transfer NHS porters, cleaners, security staff and others into a private company.
Unison said the move by Bradford NHS Trust ended the threat of "backdoor privatisation" which was set to affect about 600 lower-paid workers.
Its members were set to walk out over the plans, but action was called off in August after talks progressed.
The trust said it had decided not to continue with plans for a new company.
It had proposed to set up an NHS-owned company for its estates, called Bradford Healthcare Facilities Management Ltd (BHFML).
But Mel Pickup, chief executive of Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: "The new company will not be established.
Unison general secretary Dave Prentis said: "This is extremely good news for the staff who will continue to be employed by the NHS."
