    A horse rider has been seriously injured in a collision with a car.

    The woman, in her sixties, was riding on Toulston Lane, in Bramham, on Sunday when a silver Vauxhall Astra hit the horse she was riding.

    West Yorkshire Police said the woman was taken to Leeds General Infirmary by air ambulance.

    The horse had to be put down.

    A second rider was injured after being thrown from her horse during the incident.

    Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to get in touch.

    A bucketful of drugs has been found by police who raided a house in East Yorkshire.

    Officers were called to the property in Danes Drive, Hessle, after a tip-off on Friday.

    Humberside Police said they found a bucket filled with bags of cannabis.

    A 64-year-old man was stopped from leaving the property and arrested, according to the force.

    A quantity of cash was also found inside the house.

    Rail commuters have been affected by numerous cancellations and delays as Northern launched a new timetable which had promised 50 new trains.

    Nineteen trains had been cancelled by 10:00 GMT and 31 delayed, some due to a shortage of drivers.

    The operator said the issue affected services between Blackpool North and Manchester Airport, Leeds to York and Sheffield, and Darlington to Saltburn.

    Transpennine Express had also cancelled 29 services on Monday morning.

    Affected services included those linking Manchester Airport with Edinburgh and Newcastle, and trains from Liverpool Lime Street to Scarborough.

    A teenage boy has been missing from his home in West Yorkshire for two weeks, police say.

    Denzel Muduma, 14, was last seen on 2 December at about 16:30 at home in Pontefract, but is believed to be in the Bradford area, according to West Yorkshire Police.

    He is described as about 5ft 7ins tall, slim, with short hair and is thought to be wearing a navy blue Adidas tracksuit with white stripes on the side.

    Anyone who sees him is asked to call West Yorkshire Police.

    It's the first working day of a revised timetable on rail services across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, with passengers seeing 50 new trains run by Northern.

    In October, fewer than half of operator Northern's services ran on time, the firm's figures showed.

    Northern said the changes would focus on "reliability and stability" and add to the services each week.

    Passengers have been advised to check before they travel as changes are introduced to the timetables.

    Northern cancellations were at their highest level in October since July and August.

    A spokesman for Northern apologised at the time and and blamed "extreme weather" and rail infrastructure.

    Between 15 September and 12 October, Northern's figures showed 53.5% of Northern trains were on time, compared to 62.7% of services across the country.

    A man is in a critical condition after being shot in the street by police.

    Officers were called to reports of a man "believed to be in possession of a firearm" in Hessle Road in Hull in the early hours of Sunday.

    The man was shot by officers and taken from the scene for treatment at an unnamed hospital.

    Humberside Police Assistant Chief Constable Paul Anderson said he did not believe the incident had any connections to terrorism.

    The force said no-one else was injured and a cordon remained in place.

    A 100-metre section of Hessle Road - one of the busiest routes in Hull - was cordoned off, with a large number of police vehicles and officers in the area.

    Forensics officers are examining a grey BMW four wheel drive vehicle which remains parked inside the cordon.

    Dep Ch Con Chris Rowley said: "In incidents like this our officers have to make very difficult decisions in very difficult circumstances.

    He said the man who had been shot was in a "critical but stable " condition in hospital.

    A man killed in Leeds last week has been named by police.

    Keith Harrower, also known as Joshua French, died after being stabbed outside the Premier supermarket, in Dewsbury Road, Beeston, shortly before 17:30 last Thursday.

    A 33-year-old man was arrested in Leeds yesterday on suspicion of his murder, according to West Yorkshire Police.

    He remains in custody along with a 30-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder on Friday.

    A 35-year-old man, also arrested on Friday on suspicion of murder, has been released without charge.

    Police want anyone with information about the incident to get in touch.

    There are currently problems on the Sheffield-Rotherham Supertram.

    The service has been suspended "until further notice", according to operator Stagecoach.

    In a statement, the firm says the fleet of tram-trains has been withdrawn following "advice by the manufacturer, Stadler".

    A man has been found dead in a house in South Yorkshire.

    The body of the 51-year-old man was found inside a property in Craganour Place, Denaby Main, Doncaster, on Sunday evening, said South Yorkshire Police.

    It came after calls to the force about the man's welfare.

    Officers say the death of the man, who has not been identified, is being treated as suspicious.

    A post-mortem examination is to take place, said police.
