A mother who got on the number 83 bus at Arundel Gate at about 16:50 on 2 October last year was allegedly racially abused by two passengers already on the vehicle.
The bus driver intervened, and the suspects fled, police say.
Officers now believe the women in the images could help them with their investigation.

A black and white rabbit has been found "dumped" in a garden in Doncaster, the RSPCA has said.
The animal was found by the homeowner in his front garden in Bawtry after hearing a car pulling up outside his home and then driving away.
The animal charity says it attended to find the "stressed" bunny and no microchip to identify its owner.
RSPCA animal collection officer Ollie Wilkes said: “While still indoors, the householder had heard a car pull up in front of his house, then a car door slam. When he went outside to investigate, he found a bewildered bunny hopping around in the bushes in his front garden.
“When I arrived, I checked the rabbit, and although he was a little stressed, I could see this rabbit was uninjured and looked very healthy.”
Anybody who recognises the animal is asked to get in touch with the RSPCA, so it can find its way back home.
Buinesses in Leeds are being offered a free trial of electric vehicles as the council looks to combat air pollution in the city.
More than 250 West Yorkshire businesses have so far expressed an interest in the two-month scheme, according to Leeds City Council.
Highways England has worked with the authority to provide the vehicles, which will allow organisations to see if they save money.
Businesses, charities and other organisations can register for the trial from today.

An 18-year-old man has been charged with robbery in connection with the incident while a second 18-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of robbery has been released under investigation.

Scarborough railway station's toilets are to be refurbished after a report found the space was "limited" for people with disabilities.
The Grade II-listed building dates back to 1845 when it was opened following the completion of the York to Scarborough railway line.
Rail operator TransPennine Express approved plans to install an adult-sized changing facility with a ceiling hoist and shower.
A report to Scarborough Council said: "The absence of toilet and changing facilities means some disabled people are often limited in terms of activities available to them, or even prevented from going out altogether."
The existing male and female toilets will also be given new fixtures and fittings.
A man from Huddersfield who posed as a taxi driver before attempting to strangle a young woman in her home has been jailed for four years.
Yonis Abraham, 28, of Portland Street, attacked the 24-year-old woman after offering her a lift back to her home on 24 March.
Leeds Crown Court heard Abraham had asked for a drink of water and had gone into the woman's house when he attempted to strangle her, but was disturbed by her housemates and fled.
Det Insp Mark Catney said: "Abraham inflicted a terrifying assault on his victim and we are pleased to see him sentenced at court today.
"It is fortunate she was spared serious injuries by the intervention of her housemates and it is thanks to them that this dangerous man was unable to proceed further with his attack, the ultimate motive for which he has never disclosed."
