    Yorkshire's interest in the Women's FA Cup came to an end this weekend with all three remaining teams being knocked out.

    Barnsley Women, Sheffield United Women and Huddersfield Town LFC all lost yesterday.

    Barnsley played Tottenham, but with three divisions between, The Reds lost 5-0.

    Sheffield United Women lost 3-0 against Birmingham City Women.

    Huddersfield Town LFC lost 4-1 to Ipswich Town.

    Motorists are being warned to expect delays on the M1 North near Wakefield this morning following a multi-vehicle collision.

    The collision happened at about 07:15 near to Junction 39 at Durkar .

    Highways England say one lane remains closed as a result of the incident while traffic analysts Inrix are warning of long delays and queues back to Junction 37 for Barnsley (pictured above).

    A second man has been charged with attempted murder after a 12-year-old was injured in a drive-by shooting in Sheffield.

    The boy was shot in the leg while standing with friends on Northern Avenue, in the Arbourthorne area, when he was shot in the leg on 12 January.

    David Gregory, 23, of Heeley Green - who was arrested on Wednesday - has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

    He is due to appear before Sheffield Magistrates' Court later today.

    A 22-year-old man also arrested on Wednesday has since been released on police bail.

    The force said total of six people, five men and one woman, have been arrested in connection with the incident so far.

    Stephen Dunford, 25, of Fellbrigg Road, remains in custody charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

  7. Post-mortem tests on man killed in Hull house fire with daughterpublished at 08:16 Greenwich Mean Time 27 January 2020

    Tests are being carried out on the body of a 47-year-old man who died along with his 10-year-old daughter in a fire at a terraced house in Hull.

    Crews battled to rescue the pair from the building in Wensley Avenue, Cottingham, on Saturday morning.

    A post-mortem examination is taking place to establish the cause of his death, tests on his daughter's body will take place in the coming days.

    The cause of the blaze is under investigation, Humberside Police said.

    Ch Supt Darren Downs said: "We are continuing to support the families of those involved at this very difficult time and our thoughts are with them.

    "Investigations into this kind of incident are very complex and take time to complete.

    "In the meantime I would ask that people avoid speculating about the circumstances and if you have any information you believe would assist our investigation, please get in touch."

    Three men have been arrested in connection with the death of a West Yorkshire footballer who died after being attacked on a night out, police say.

    Jordan Sinnott (pictured), who was on loan at Matlock Town, was found unconscious in Market Place, Retford, Nottinghamshire, at about 02:00 on Saturday.

    The 25-year-old from Bradford suffered a fractured skull and died on Saturday evening.

    Two 21-year-old men have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

    Another man, 27, who was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, remains in police custody.

    Sinnott started his career as a youth player at Huddersfield Town, before joining non-league Altrincham.

    After a spell at Halifax, he went on to play again in the Football League, joining League Two Chesterfield for the 2017-18 season.

    Police say they are investigating two "large-scale fights" that took place in Retford.
