    A dog which became stuck in a car seat in West Yorkshire had to be rescued by firefighters, it's been revealed.

    The unlucky pooch was rescued after it's paw became trapped in the seat in a car in Mytholmroyd yesterday.

    Writing on social media, external crews said: "Managed to release this dog with its paw stuck in a car seat.

    "Crews managed to quickly free the dog with no harm done. P'awesome work all."

    A Hull nightclub says it's worried it might run out of money and be forced to close because of coronavirus restrictions.

    Tony Gorbert, from Atik, says they usually see two spikes in business every year.

    But due to restrictions on them opening because of the pandemic, it means they've been forced to close for more than eight months.

    Mr Gorbet said: "We have two peaks in our year, September for freshers and the students and, of course, that's gone. And then the second peak is in December with all the Christmas parties coming out.

    "Such a fun time of year and [it's] just lost this year. We've had to get through by using cash in the back, that of course is running out and therefore we really are heading for the abyss."

    An 86-year-old woman who died after becoming trapped under a reversing car in Halifax has been named by police.

    Emergency services were called to the incident on Burlington Street on 4 November.

    The car, a Volvo XC90, was reversing on the road when it hit Fatima Begum from Halifax, police said.

    CCTV shows a woman nearby at the time of the incident at 14.54, and officers believe she may have witnessed the incident.

    Sgt Paul Lightowler, said: “We're continuing to investigate this collision which has tragically resulted in Fatima’s death and are appealing for witnesses.

    “I am particularly keen to speak with an Asian woman captured on CCTV from nearby, who we think may have seen the collision.

    “I would ask this lady, or anyone who has information or dasham footage, to contact police."

    The owner of a shop in York say she's "ecstatic" to be able to reopen when the current coronavirus lockdown ends next week.

    From 2 December, a three tier system of restrictions will replace the national lockdown following Boris Johnson's announcement on Monday.

    The areas which will be subject to the medium, high or very high tiers are set to be announced later this week.

    Gyms, non-essential shops and personal care businesses such as beauty salons will be allowed to re-open, but pubs in tier three will only be able to provide a takeaway service.

    Alex Hall, who owns the Little Yorkshire Candle Company in York, says: "[We're] ecstatic we can reopen.

    "I couldn't actually believe it when we had to close down in November, but it's a huge relief we can reopen next week and hopefully get a good run-up to Christmas."

    The parents of a 10-year-old boy, who is thought to be one of the youngest victims of Covid-19 in the UK, have spoken of their "indescribable" pain following his death.

    Fehzan Jamil, from Bradford, who had a number of underlying health issues, including epilepsy, died in hospital after contracting the disease. His funeral was held on Monday.

    Speaking to Channel 4 News, Fehzan's parents, Tayyaba and Mohammed Jamil, described their son as a "really brave fighter" and "soldier", who was a cheerful boy despite his health problems.

    His father Mohammed said: "There were four of us, now there are only three. The pain is indescribable."

    Their interview comes as the government said a further 608 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Tuesday.

    This is highest figure since May 12, when 614 deaths were reported, and brings the UK total to 55,838.

    A second teenager has been charged with murder following the shooting of a 20-year-old man in Sheffield.

    Ramey Salem was found seriously injured in a property on Grimesthorpe Road South on 16 November. He died later in hospital.

    Aaron Yanbeck, 18, of Abbeydale Road, Sheffield, has been charged with murder and is due to appear before magistrates later today.

    Mr Yanbeck has also been charged with conspiracy to murder, conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life between 3 October and 17 November, as well as possession of an offensive weapon, police said.

    Jabari Fanty, 18, of Broadhead Road, Sheffield, appeared before magistrates accused of Mr Salem's murder yesterday.

    He is due to appear before Sheffield Crown Court on 26 November.

    More coronavirus local testing sites are to open in North Yorkshire, it's been confirmed.

    New sites will open in Northallerton and Selby this weekend, to be followed "shortly" by another in Skipton, according to North Yorkshire's Local Resilience Forum.

    The additional sites join existing ones in Harrogate and Scarborough.

    The Northallerton testing site will open on Sunday outside The Forum on Bullamoor Road. The Selby site will open on Saturday in Portholme Crescent car park.

    Officials say the extra test centres are indoors and allow walk-in appointments. People don't need to arrive in a vehicle, unlike drive-through mobile testing units where testing is inside a vehicle.

    Richard Flinton, chair of North Yorkshire Local Resilience Forum, said: “The new local testing sites allow those without a vehicle to be tested quickly, giving them more choice and being more accessible to all residents.

    “With the onset of winter, the indoor sites also offer staff a warm, dry place in which to carry out tests.”

    A 62-year-old pedestrian was left seriously hurt after being hit by a car in Sheffield, police have revealed.

    The man was crossing Main Road in Darnall at about 18:40 on Sunday 22 November when a black Mercedes collided with him, according to West Yorkshire Police.

    The driver of the Mercedes, a 29-year-old man, stopped at the scene and has been spoken to by police about the incident, officers said.

    A spokesperson for the South Yorkshire force said: "The pedestrian suffered internal injuries and injuries to his pelvis and leg. He was taken to hospital by ambulance."

    Anyone who witnessed the collision, has dash-cam footage, or who saw the Mercedes prior to the incident, has been asked to contact police.

    Researchers from Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Trust are calling on 330 people in the area to take part in the study which will involve about 30,000 people worldwide.

    The trust is one of 17 places across the country to be selected.

    The phase three study will test the safety and effectiveness of a new two-dose vaccine developed by Johnson & Johnson, the trust said.

    The study will be open to adults living in the Sheffield and South Yorkshire area, irrespective of whether they have had Covid-19 or not.

    The charity was founded in 1967 to raise funds to repair the cathedral's 197ft-high Central Tower after a survey showed it was sinking under its own weight.

    Richard Shaw, Chair of YMF Trustees, said: "We are delighted HRH The Prince of Wales has agreed to support us in our work to restore the magnificence of the Minster, to maintain the skills which preserve it, and to develop the facilities and skills needed by future generations".
