    Two people have been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in Nottingham.

    The victim, who was in his 20s, was attacked on Union Road on the evening of 14 September.

    Police arrested a 44-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman in the Bestwood and Hucknall areas this morning on suspicion of assisting an offender.

    A 43-year-old man, previously arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released under investigation.

    Demonstrators at today's climate change protest claim Brexit is "like a flea bite" compared to the crisis they say the world is facing.

    Karunavaca Lake, who is taking part in a cycling "go-slow", designed to disrupt traffic in Nottingham city centre, said: "We are in an incredible mess about Brexit but, actually, Brexit is like a flea bite compared to what we are talking about."

    She added: "The question is, 'Why isn't everybody passionate really?'" she added.

    Martin Sleath, who took part in the protest, said: “It [the protest] might be a little irritating for people going to work. It’s a small thing to give up compared to the scale of the crisis we face. I would hope most people are supporting what we’re doing, to be honest."

    Protestors say the 'Earth Strike day' of action is designed to highlight the urgent need to tackle carbon emissions.

    Protestors are taking part in a climate demonstration on the streets of Nottingham.

    A group of cyclists is moving along Maid Marian Way to highlight what they say is a "climate crisis".

    They have apologised to rush-hour drivers for delays but asked people to look at the "bigger picture".

    The action is part of a global protest called 'Earth Strike'.

    An image has been released in connection with a sexual assault on a Derbyshire-bound train.

    A man approached a teenage girl who was waiting at Manchester Piccadilly for a train to Hadfield on the evening of Sunday 18 August, British Transport Police said.

    Both boarded the same train and while he was sat next to the victim he put his hands around her and touched her inappropriately.

    The victim of a serious sexual assault has shared her story with BBC Crimewatch in the hopes of bringing her attacker to justice.

    The young woman, who was not identified, described how she was attacked in a car park by a man who suddenly appeared in North Sherwood Street in Nottingham at about 02:45 on 4 April this year.

    She said he kicked her to the ground and began to sexually assault her, but when she came round he ran away.

    She added: "He's a predator, just the pure violence of it. I always think that night he was going to attack someone and unfortunately it was me."

    Det Insp Kylie Westlake appeared on the programme to encourage anyone with information to get in touch with them. Police particularly want to speak to this man about it.

    She added the woman's injuries have healed but she is still dealing with the impact.

    Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has been critical of the party's Bassetlaw MP John Mann over his decision to take up a full-time post as the Government's "anti-Semitism tsar".

    Mr Mann, who is due to stand down from his role, has used his exit from the Commons to criticise Jeremy Corbyn's record as leader, and blame him for the party's current anti-Semitism crisis.

    He said he could not campaign for Mr Corbyn knowing he could become prime minister, and told The Sunday Times he would "never forgive" him for allowing the party to be "hijacked" by anti-Semites.

    However, Mr Corbyn responded by saying: "He decided to walk away and take a gift from the Tory government."

    A 12-year-old has appeared in court accused of a knife attack on another boy in Nottingham.

    The attack is alleged to have happened on Monday evening at Bridlington Street Park in Hyson Green.

    Another 12-year-old needed hospital treatment for an injury to his arm.

    The boy - who cannot be named for legal reasons - is accused of wounding with intent.

    He was remanded on conditional bail at Nottingham Magistrates' Court earlier.

    Officers have arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of drugs offences after attending reports of a fight near Nottingham Station.

    He was arrested on London Road this afternoon and is currently in custody.

    The air ambulance called to help a man who had been hit by a bus could not land in the Market Square because of loose fencing on the ground.

    Videos show the helicopter start to land in the city's main square but then pull out after a line of metal fences were knocked over by the wind it generated.

    The Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance Service today confirmed it chose not to land for "safety reasons" and went to find another site, but by this time it was not needed.

    Police said the man, who had serious injuries, was taken to hospital by a road ambulance.
