    Flood water on the line at Draycott in Derbyshire has forced the closure of the line between Derby and Long Eaton.

    East Midlands Railway says trains on the Sheffield / Nottingham / London St Pancras and the Matlock / Derby / Nottingham routes are affected.

    A pilot and passenger escaped serious injury when their private plane crashed at Nottingham Airport.

    A report by the Air Accident Investigation Branch, external (AAIB) said the pair had just touched down in the Piper PA-28 Cherokee on 22 October when the pilot lost control of the plane. It veered off the runway and became airborne again.

    The 69-year-old battled to regain control of the craft but, after circling the airfield, it became uncontrollable again and crashed into the ground near Runway 27.

    Despite the plane being damaged "beyond economic repair", the pilot was uninjured and the passenger only suffered minor injuries.

    The AAIB said it was not known what made the plane lose control.

    Derbyshire Police moved to reassure one Valentine's Day romantic that they have not been stood up - but their date had been arrested.

    The roads policing unit tweeted from Cromford after pulling over a BMW which had a bunch of flowers on the passenger seat.

    They said: "If your Valentine's Day date is male, 37 years old, disqualified from driving but still drives a 2004 BMW (badly) - he's not stood you up.

    "He tried his best to get to you but failed. Arrested - we've got him all to ourselves in an ensuite room."
