A 24-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man who was attacked outside a nightclub in Chesterfield.
Police believe ex-soldier Joseph Robotham was hit over the head with a bottle near Vibe, in Holywell Street, early on Saturday. He died in hospital late on Sunday.
Connor Rose, of Baden Powell Road, Chesterfield, who is also accused of possession of an offensive weapon, did not enter a plea at the short hearing at Derby Crown Court on Wednesday.
A judge remanded Mr Rose in custody and set pre-trial hearing dates of 20 March and 29 June. A trial has been pencilled in for 4 August.
