  3. Caution for man who "illegally moved pike"published at 17:40 Greenwich Mean Time 25 November 2016

    BBC Lincolnshire Live

Now here's something a bit strange for a Friday evening.

Anthony Bostock of Rowan Close, Sleaford has been formally cautioned after taking fish out of a lake he owned and putting them into a river.

He discovered pike in the Langdale Lakes back in March and was worried they would eat the other fish so caught them and released them into the Barlings Eau, a small river and tributary of the Witham.

However, moving any fish to and from rivers, canals and stillwaters requires a permit from the Environment Agency. A permit that Mr Bostock didn't have.

Lincolnshire County Council have been in touch regarding the news that 11 schools are thinking about withdrawing from a multi-million pound contract that they brokered.

They say that every school has an individual contract with Serco and it's up to the school to decide if they want to leave.

    Quote Message

I understand that a small number of schools have given notice and will be making their final decisions as to whether to exit their individual contracts with Serco in the next few weeks. The council will providing advice to schools to assist their decision making in early December. The decisions that schools make regarding their contracts with Serco do not affect the council's contract with Serco.
