    A broken down camper van has blocked the A46 Southbound in Burton between the A57 Saxilby Road and the B1378 Lincoln Road.

    Expect delays if you're heading that way especially because of the rush hour traffic.

    After almost four hours of deliberating their verdict the jury in the trial of a Boston man accused of murdering his estranged wife have been sent home for the weekend.

    Gytis Griskevicius, 32, of St Ann's Lane, Boston is alleged to have killed his wife Marina Erte, 33, after becoming jealous at the new relationship she had begun with another man.

    He denies the charges.

    A Lincoln charity's taking on the challenge of improving the city's railway station. 

    The Rotary Club's planning to clean platforms and put flower tubs around the station. It also wants to gather old photos of it for displays. 

    The charity says a similar project in Market Rasen station has been a success.

    Medical staff from outside Lincolnshire are being sought to help out the current staffing crisis at Lincoln County Hospital A&E .

    United Lincolnshire Hospital Trust has confirmed it's asking hospitals from elsewhere in the country to help staff the emergency department.

    The trust said yesterday it was "struggling to fill rotas" over the next few weeks.  

    It comes as the trust appeals to people to  only come to Lincoln's A&E unit in genuine emergencies .

    Scunthorpe's Golden Wonder factory has today revealed another 60 jobs have been created at the plant .

    The news emerged as the town's MP, Nic Dakin, visited the factory on Colin Road.

    Recent investment in the factory has seen an improvement in its production capabilities, the firm says.

  10. Woman dies after Sleaford crashpublished at 14:53 British Summer Time 7 April 2017

    A 61-year-old Lincolnshire woman who was involved in a serious road collision near Sleaford last month has died. 

    The woman, from the Bourne area, was seriously hurt when her car collided with another vehicle which was towing a caravan on the A15 on 23 March.

    Police are re-appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch.

    Jurors in the trial of a man accused of killing his estranged wife have retired to consider their verdict .

    Gytis Griskevicius, 32, of St Ann's Lane, Boston, denies killing Marina Erte, 33, at her flat in Boston on 20 May 2016.

    He is alleged to have beaten her before drowning her with a shower attachment and then setting fire to the flat.

    Lincoln Crown Court was told the attack was motivated by jealousy at a new relationship Ms Erte had begun.

    Drivers are being warned there's been a crash on the A46 in Faldingworth.

    The road is currently partially blocked in both directions near Buslingthorpe Road.

    I mentioned earlier that 11 of the world's most dangerous kitties are now on show at the Lincolnshire Wildlife Park.

    It's the country's largest collection of Bengal tigers, one of the most endangered animals in the world.

    Steve Nichols, the park's CEO, says he hopes the rescued tigers will inspire people to do their bit to protect the animals from extinction:

  18. On yer bike! Final countdown for Lincolnshire's Tour of the Wolds published at 11:28 British Summer Time 7 April 2017

    Last minute preparations are under way for this weekend's massive cycling event, Lincolnshire's Tour of the Wolds.

    The first race starts on Saturday at 08:00 from the London Road Pavillion in Louth. 

    On Sunday, the professionals take over with some of cycling's biggest names taking to the county's roads

    The women's route is 62 miles and the men's route is 102 miles.

    Race director Dan Elmore says it'll certainly be a spectacle:

    Plans for a proposed new £20m leisure complex in Grimsby go on display today.

    A new nine-screen cinema and restaurant complex is planned as an extension to Freshney Place near the Riverhead.

    The development is expected to generate at least 100 construction jobs at any one time, as well as up to 250 long-term jobs.

    The consultation will be held today and tomorrow between 10:30 and 16:00 in the unit at the corner of Baxtergate and Clayton Walk malls.
