    A human rights activist from Spalding - who faced criminal defamation charges in Thailand - is now intending to take the Thai government to court.

    Andy Hall was given a suspended three year prison sentence last year - for accusing a fruit processing company of abusing migrant workers.

    Today he'll file two sets of criminal prosecutions alleging harassment.

    People in need of a laugh, sing and dance after the general election are being encouraged to attend the Lincolnshire Laughter Festival next month, external.

    The event at Cabourne Parva, Market Rasen taking place from Friday, 9 June to 11 Sunday, June includes a variety of activities such as live music, inspiring speakers and family-friendly workshops.

    Lincolnshire Police are appealing for information about 33-year-old Peter Rogers who is missing.

    He was last seen early yesterday morning - Monday 30 May - at Stoke Rochford Hall near Grantham.

    He is described as being 6 foot tall of broad build with dark hair, possibly wearing a suit.

    If you have any information concering his whereabouts call the police on 101.

    Voters in one Grantham ward are being reminded their polling station has changed for next week's general election.

    People who have previously voted at the Newton House Care Home now need to go to The Muddle Go Nowhere public house on Barrowby Road.

    Residents can check their polling cards which will identify which polling station they should vote at.

    A housing charity in North East Lincolnshire is to close three sheltered housing schemes.

    Shoreline has told the 35 residents of the schemes in Grimsby, Laceby and Humberston they're shutting because they're outdated and unsuitable for the needs of older people.

    The charity says it's taken into consideration all factors before making its decision and will assist in rehousing residents.

    The majority of residents in two of the schemes weren't in favour of closure.

    A memorial to a soldier who died 100 years ago to the day in World War One will be held in a Lincolnshire village today.

    John Doughty died aged 32 on 31 May 1917.

    The war cost the lives of 22 men from Ropsley near Grantham, all of whom are honoured on the village's war memorial, external.

    Each will be remembered with their own service on the anniversary of their death.

    Plans to lay a new water pipe through a Lincolnshire park this summer have been described as "dreadful" by the town's mayor.

    The works at Westgate Fields in Louth, to improve the town's water system before new houses are built, will begin at the end of June and will continue into August.

    It's already been delayed due to poor weather this winter.

    A 95-year-old World War Two veteran who's been awarded the French Legion of Honour says he's dedicated the award to relatives he lost in the conflict.

    Derek Smith from Grantham fought to liberate France in 1944, serving on board HMS Hawkins.

    He says it's an honour that he'd like to share with his brothers and brother-in-law.

    Divers will start an underwater survey this week of historic ships, the Ross Tiger, the Esther and Perseverance owned by North East Lincolnshire Council.

    The work will help decide how to preserve the vessels for the future.

    The feasibility study's expected to be completed at the end of July.
