Clinton Sentance, 36, admitted targeting pensioners in their homes.

He tied them up and threatened them with a knife.

The judge jailed him for life with a minimum of 10 years.

Detective Inspector Mark Kirwan says Sentance needs to be off the streets for a very long time:

    Quote Message

This individual in my view will always be a risk. This allows the state, probation and the police to control him as much as possible because I foresee him being a risk to the public for the foreseeable future.

  2. Lincoln landscaper shortlisted for national awardpublished at 10:50 British Summer Time 16 June 2017

A landscaper from Lincoln has been shortlisted for a top prize in a national competition for being a so-called "trade hero".

    Hard hat and boots

Addam Smith brought together a group of about 50 builders and tradesmen called Band of Builders who helped to renovate the home of a friend, Keith Ellwick, who had terminal cancer.

Mr Smith's been nominated in the Trade Hero category of the Building Better Communities competition.

Claire Harding, one of the competition's organisers, says a lot of people nominated Mr Smith:

    Quote Message

They were saying all kinds of wonderful things about Addam and the work that he does and is doing to set up band of builders. They felt compelled to support him because he got lots of tradesmen from across the area to pitch in and do their bit."

  3. Parking row in Gainsborough after £100 finespublished at 10:18 British Summer Time 16 June 2017

There are calls for signs at Marshall's Yard car park in Gainsborough to be changed after drivers were hit with £100 parking fines.

    Sign

Three drivers claim they've been hit with fines after arriving just before 18:00 and paying for four hours.

They stayed longer, but believed they didn't have to pay more because signs state restrictions end at 18:00. If they'd arrived after, it would have been free.

Local businessman John Hal, who knows the drivers affected, says the sign should be reworded to make the situation clear:

    Quote Message

It's all right them saying we've got to cover ourselves for people abusing it, but that's a nonsense because that means if they'd waited until after 18:00 they could've abused it. That's the silly part of it...absolutely ludicrous."

    John Hal

The site is run by Creative Parking Solutions, which hasn't responded to the BBC's request for a response, but Marshall's Yard says customers should read the one of the 25 signs outlining parking policy:

    Quote Message

We are sorry to hear that one of our customers has had this experience when visiting our centre. The car park at Marshall's Yard is managed by a separate company and we have worked hard with them to ensure that we operate a fair policy in line with many town centre car parks in the region."

  6. Changing term times... backpublished at 09:07 British Summer Time 16 June 2017

    David Sykes
    Reporter, BBC Radio Lincolnshire

Three Lincolnshire schools which tried having shorter summer holidays have gone back to the original timetable.

Tall Oaks Academy Trust in Gainsborough made the changes a few years ago because it thought it would improve attendance and give parents more flexibility with taking leave.

But it saw increased costs to keep the schools running over the holidays and problems for parents.

    Executive head Sue Wilson explains:
