    The trees in front of Lincoln Railway Station could be chopped down after one fell and trapped a man in his car last month.

    The man escaped unhurt but officers working on the transport hub have applied to take down the five remaining trees and replace them with ones in purpose built pits.

    The City of Lincoln Council says that the current ones have damaged roots and it's not safe to keep working to upgrade the front of the station until they're gone.

    Lincolnshire's health watchdog says it's "extremely concerned" about plans to close Lincoln's NHS walk-in centre.

    Councillors on the health scrutiny committee say residents are "deeply worried" there won't be any suitable alternatives in place.

    The committee is considering the proposal from Lincolnshire West Clinical Commissioning Group, external at a meeting today amid concerns about the impact on the wider area.

    The CCG says the plans would cut down on the duplication of services.

    A woman who snubbed Skegness in a TV advert for the National Lottery has been invited by the mayor to see what the town has to offer.

    Gina Parkin, from Leeds, was featured in the ad in which people said where they would take their families if they won millions.

    It's the last day at school for many pupils across Lincolnshire today and it'll be a very emotional day for one county couple.

    A Lincolnshire coroner has issued a warning to farm workers after hearing evidence about the death of an 18-year-old on his family farm.

    Mr Fisher said the evidence was very touching, and that grown men had been in tears describing what had happened.

    He advised farm workers to be more aware of the dangers posed by power lines and added: "The level of vigilance needs to be increased.

    "You need to pass on the need for your employees to take care."

    Managers at East Midlands Ambulance Service are urging children not to make hoax calls to the 999 emergency line.

    Their appeal comes as hundreds of schools prepare to close for the summer break.

    The death of an 18-year-old from Lincolnshire who was electrocuted while working on his parents farm, has been declared a 'sad case' according to a coroner.

    Jackson Maplethorpe pictured below had been cleaning dirt out of a tipper trailer at Digby Fen in November last year when the top of it touched an overhead power line.

    Stuart Fisher, the coroner who heard evidence about the death during a two-day inquest which finished today said the case had been very difficult.

    The new name for the Cherry Willingham Community School has been revealed.

    From September it will be The Priory Pembroke Academy.

    The Priory Federation of Academies says it commemorates the first Earl of Pembroke who secured victory for the English army over the French forces in the Battle of Lincoln 800 years ago.

    The federation already runs three secondary schools in Lincoln and one in Grantham.

    An inquest has recorded a verdict of accidental death on a Lincolnshire farm worker.

    Jackson Maplethorpe from Billinghay, between Lincoln and Boston, was electrocuted on his family's farm.

    The 18-year-old tipped a trailer which hit overhead power lines.

    Lincolnshire Police says it's had 363 applications to join the force after its latest recruitment campaign.

    The drive, which started in May was extended after what senior officers described as a disappointing response.

    Imps fans are fundraising to help buy the club a new training ground. Lincoln City have been looking at a number of possible sites.

    Now a group have set up a crowdfunding page, external called Cowleys' Perfect Pitch. The group says it hopes to raise £100,000 towards the project.

    Anti-social behaviour and street-drinking are back in the sights of police in Skegness today. Another dispersal order is in place until midnight tonight. It gives officers the powers to move people on and confiscate alcohol.
